Growing peony “Henry Boxtos”

One of the advantages of this strain is that it grows well in any soil, but it is best suited for nutritious garden soil. Do not choose planting sites near buildings. In the spring, when the snow is actively melting, drops from the roof will destroy the flowers that make their way.

Plant a flower in the fall. Prepare the planting pit in advance. In about a month, add humus, ash and peat to it. If you fertilize the soil well, the peony will not need to be fed for the next 3 years. In the first year of life, cut off all the buds of the plant. This is necessary for it to grow stronger and grow a good root system. You can enjoy blooming next year.

If necessary, in the first year of life, build a support for the weak peony. This is especially important if the year turned out to be windy.

The rest of the care is simple. It consists in watering, removing weeds and loosening the earth. When your peonies grow, you can propagate them by dividing the roots. Peonies grown this way are usually very strong. Carry out the procedure in late August or early September.
