You took an exciting shower, did a massage, you are lively, cheerful, active, as never before — wonderful! But then time passes … for some reason the tone drops … From somewhere, lethargy, apathy, drowsiness increase … Where did everything go?
Remember pendulums and don’t worry. Everything is left in you.
In the body and psyche, as in nature, bad weather is replaced by fine weather, and during sunny prosperity, a thunderstorm is brewing.
A rise sooner or later is followed by a fall, but the fall prepares the possibility of a rise.
Everything in us is rhythmic and cyclical. Digestion and blood vessels have their own rhythms, the liver loves to get sick at the same time, the bone marrow is punctual, like Immanuel Kant. Even dreams are on schedule.

It is practically important to study two kinds of your own pendulums: the tone pendulum and the mood pendulum. They fluctuate in complex-variable rhythms on different time scales (daily and less, weekly, monthly and more), they depend both on the mass of external influences and on their internal whims, and, of course, you can’t follow all the fluctuations. However, the main ones, especially the interfering ones, can always be noticed. «To understand in order to foresee, to foresee in order to master.» Having learned to predict “swings”, one can learn, if not to eliminate, then at least to moderate, stretch, reduce the steepness of unpleasant recessions …
Watch animals and small children: how often, at every opportunity, they manage to rest. They take rest in small portions, often little by little. This is the most reliable principle, and AT returns to it again. Relaxation is a kind of withdrawal of the wakefulness pendulum towards sleep, and at the same time a gentle balancing of all body functions. It can also be compared with the “neutral reset” well-known to drivers — turning off all speeds, although the car continues to drive and the engine is running …
