Peas: how to cook pea porridge correctly? Video
The classic pea is a healthy pea dish that can help cope with digestive problems. It is also recommended for high blood sugar. It is not for nothing that the pea is included in the menu of many public catering establishments. In some countries, pea dishes are national.
For a classic pea you will need:
- 1,5 cups peas
- 4 cup water
- 1 teaspoon of salt
If the peas are shelled (in halves), you can simply rinse them, pour cold water and cook.
Salt the water in a saucepan, wait until it boils and continue to cook over low heat for 40-60 minutes. Soak whole peas in cold water and leave overnight.
You can make a delicious and satisfying dish from simple pea porridge. For example, take 200 g of smoked brisket. Cut into small pieces. Put it in a preheated pan with a tablespoon of vegetable oil. Fry the brisket until fat begins to melt from it. Take two onions, peel them and finely chop them. Add the onion to the brisket and sauté until golden brown. Add the frying to the finished peas. Such a dish can be served as an independent side dish, for meatballs, cutlets, goulash, mushrooms. Peas can be cooked deliciously with vegetables.
To prepare a pea with vegetables you will need:
- 200 g peas
- 1 onions
- 1 small carrot
- a small bunch of greens
- 1 st. a spoon of vegetable oil
- salt and pepper to taste
For the recipe, it is better to take round peas. It needs to be soaked in cold water for 6-8 hours. Then drain the water, rinse the peas and cook over medium heat, adding clean cold water to the pan. Cook for 30-40 minutes. The peas should be soft, but not soft.
Take a frying pan, pour vegetable oil into it. Peel the onion, cut into half rings and transfer to hot oil. Add diced carrots to the onion. Cook the vegetables together for about five minutes. Transfer the boiled peas, sauteed vegetables, and finely chopped greens to a separate bowl. Salt and pepper the dish. It can be served with hot red peppers.
Spicy peppercorns with smoked meats
The recipe will require:
- 200 g chickpeas (chickpeas)
- 150 g bacon
- 1 onions
- 2 garlic cloves
- 4 tbsp. adjika spoons
- 1 st. spoon of olive oil
- hot red pepper, salt to taste

Wash the chickpeas, soak for 6-8 hours in cold water, drain the water. Put the dishes on the fire and add cold clean water. Cook the chickpeas for about 40 minutes. Cut the bacon into strips. Peel the onion, cut into half rings and fry in olive oil. Add chopped bacon to the onion.
Put adjika and pepper in a frying pan with onions and bacon. Then add the boiled chickpeas and half a glass of cold water. Simmer all together for 15-20 minutes. Add garlic, passed through a press, remove the pan from heat. The dish can be served both hot and cold.
