Historical information
The official date of creation of JSC “Pearl of Stavropol” is considered to be 1962 – its forerunner was a millionaire wine state farm with extensive grape plantations and processing plants. In fact, the history of the enterprise can be traced back to the beginning of the 80th century, when the first vineyards began to be planted in the valley of the Kuma River. This connection of times was almost interrupted by an ill-conceived anti-alcohol campaign in the mid-XNUMXs of the last century, which led to a critical decrease in grape plantings.
A new stage in the life of the plant began in 2007, from the moment it became part of the structure of “ELIDA Group” and the complete modernization of production. Today, thanks to its own vineyards, orchards, croplands, the agricultural complex has the opportunity not only to produce wines and cognacs, but also to supply wine materials ready for bottling to other factories. Animal farm and a fish pond serve as an excellent support for the economy.
The names of the series of cognacs produced by the company are associated with important historical milestones or are designed to emphasize the continuity of winemaking traditions. “Pearl of Stavropol 1962” is dedicated to the year the company was founded, “Troekurov” is a reference to the story of triple smoked cognac, created by the landowner Kuryanov. The name of this man is also associated with the legend of the origin of cognac with a surprisingly velvety taste, which is the best fit for the name Velor.

The drink has a light amber color, typical for young cognacs. Leading notes in the bouquet are fresh apples, blooming July meadow, linden honey. As it develops, the aroma is complemented by hints of cinnamon and vanilla. Cognac will perfectly cope with the role of an aperitif designed to arouse interest in snacks.
“Pearl of Stavropol 1962” 5, 40%**
Cognac will easily awaken nostalgic feelings – its recipe was developed and fixed by GOST in the Soviet period and has not changed since then. The blend uses 5-year-old spirits. The drink has an elegant golden-amber color, leaves persistent and oily “legs” on the walls of the glass. The bouquet opens gradually, releasing notes of dried fruit, hazelnut, plum jam, vanilla. The taste is sweetish, moderately strong, with tones of milk chocolate. For tasting, cognac is best served unchilled, accompanied by cheese and fruit snacks.
“Pearl of Stavropol” KV, 40%
Cognac is blended from spirits obtained using traditional technologies – vinification, distillation, 6-7 years of aging in oak barrels. Due to a sufficiently long contact with the wood, the drink acquires the color of old gold with lighter amber glimpses. Sweet tones stand out in the formed bouquet: chocolate, fresh pastries, ripe apricot, vanilla cream. It is drunk softly, the taste is dominated by fruity and honey notes with a hint of chocolate in the aftertaste.
“Troekurov” five-year-old, 40%
The recipe for cognac with a high degree of purification was restored according to archival records of the Prikumsk landowner Kuryanov. According to the same sources, a decanter was created, with its outlines resembling a damask, which the famous distiller offered to his guests. The drink has the color of Baltic amber with a golden spark. In the bouquet, behind the sweet tones of pear caramel, persimmon, vanilla, woody-balsamic notes appear. If you warm a glass in your hand, you can feel the aromas of figs, ripe cherry plums, and fading flowers. The taste is also dominated by sweetness, slightly dried by oak and nut tartness. It is equally good as a digestif or as cognac to accompany a feast.
