Payback for Betrayal – a Case in the Life of Students

Greetings to my regular and new readers! “Payback for betrayal” is a life incident that happened in 1981 in one of the St. Petersburg universities.

Non-fictional story

A sympathetic, cheerful and good-natured guy Grisha studied at the Faculty of Mathematics. But he had serious heart problems. Now I don’t remember what his diagnosis sounded like. His lips and hands were constantly bluish.

My friend Mila met him. She was not at all embarrassed by her friend’s illness, she sincerely loved him, no matter what.

Once at the university there was a student amateur competition, where everyone could show off their existing talent, and Gregory wrote poetry perfectly.

Black crows

The competition was in full swing, when several black crows persistently began to knock on the window of the assembly hall. Whispers were heard in the hall, they say, this is not good.

Meanwhile, Gregory came out on stage and began to read his poems. The crows continued to pound on the windows, peering intently into the assembly hall, as if they wanted to say something. And then, suddenly for everyone, Grisha felt bad, he fell unconscious right on the stage – perhaps the guy was very worried.

Classmates immediately called an ambulance, the arrived doctors fought for the guy’s life for half an hour, but they could not save him. The crows watched for a few minutes and then flew away.

Mother

The university administration sent a telegram to Grisha’s mother about the death of her son. An answer came from her: “There is no money for the funeral. I refuse it. ” Classmates and the administration collected the required amount and buried the guy, as expected.

Mila was no longer able to study at the university, where everything reminded her of her beloved. Soon she dropped out of school and left the city. Having already graduated from the institute, I found Mila through mutual acquaintances.

She said that Grishina’s mother drowned in the lake two months after the death of her son. Maybe this is just a coincidence, or maybe payback for betrayal?
