“This phrase struck me twice. The first time I found out what it means. The second — when I understood its meaning. Literary critic Pavel Basinsky about the main wisdom of his life.
“This phrase struck me twice. The first time I found out what it means. “Anger” is caring, “to dominate” means not to dominate, but “enough”. In Russian it will be «Enough for each day of your care.» Now, reading — and quite often! — that something «dominates» over someone, I grin: that’s how smart I am!
The second time these words struck me, when I understood their meaning. After all, we live in rough outline: everything is ahead of us, everything will be tomorrow, and today we are only preparing to live. And this is deeply wrong. They say that in the bathroom of a Chinese emperor there was an inscription: «Every day be born again.» The day has come, life has begun. But it also came with its own concern, something that needs to be addressed today. Do not delay, but do not worry if you do not have time: you will be born in the morning, and again there will be care. I have not yet found anything wiser than this thought in my life.
