pause with meaning

Take a break in work, in communication, in relationships … Sometimes it is simply necessary, and not only in order to relax.

“A pause is an important event, and not an “empty” moment when nothing happens,” says Vinod Menon, professor at the Stanford School of Medicine (USA). In his study, volunteers listened to obscure symphonic music that was interrupted several times (one to two seconds). At the same time, neuropsychologists used instruments to record the work of the brain. The data show that during pauses, zones in the brain are activated that are responsible for the perception of everything new, unexpected and strange. That is, our brain does not rest, but, on the contrary, collects resources in order to respond to a possible change in the situation. And pauses then help us adequately assess what is happening.
