Patron

Tequila “Patron” – the embodiment of respectability. Everything is thought out to the smallest detail: a thick-walled decanter bottle with a convenient cork made of bark or crystal, and a deliberately discreet, but elegant label with a stylized image of a bee. The content is consistent with the form – The Patron Spirits Company produces only premium tequila, 100% blue agave juice.

In terms of popularity, Patron tequila almost caught up with Jose Cuervo and Sauza brands. In 2004, she won the prestigious Five Diamond Star Award from the American Academy of Hospitality Industry. Since 2007, The Patron Spirits Company has been the largest exporter of premium tequila.

In his numerous interviews, billionaire John Paul DeJoria, one of the founders of The Patron Spirits Company, constantly says that tequila is his favorite alcoholic drink. And since he did not like any of the existing varieties of tequila, he decided to create his own brand. The reason for such intelligibility is simple: in his youth, John did not have money for high-quality alcohol, he had to be content with the cheapest booze.

The Patron brand is a symbol of a slumdog billionaire’s dream come true. This noble drink is a reminder that nothing is impossible for a purposeful person.

Types of tequila Patron

History of Patron Tequila

The founder of the Patron brand, John Paul DeJoria, was born into a very poor family, and when the boy was two years old, his parents divorced. At the age of nine, John was already making money by selling newspapers and postcards. And then, by a court decision, he was completely taken away from his mother.

At twenty, John had no roof over his head, no profession, no prospects, but he had friends in one of the Los Angeles gangs. Fortunately, the guy had the willpower not to go down the wrong path, he preferred military service to a criminal career. True, he did not get rich there either, so after demobilization, John lived in his old car for some time.

When, in 1980, an acquaintance of the hairdresser suggested that DeJoria create a company for the production of hair care products, the authorized capital ($ 750) had to be borrowed from a bank. But the company’s products turned out to be of such high quality that in a few years the partners had already become millionaires, and by 1989 – billionaires. In 1989, Mr. DeJoria decided to realize an old dream and, together with Martin Crowley, founded a tequila production company.

Mechanization, in particular, the use of modern presses and autoclaves, speeds up the production of tequila, but worsens its quality. Therefore, The Patron Spirits Company makes a drink from a ripe eight-year-old blue agave according to ancient technology: most of the operations are performed manually, a stone wheel-press carved from volcanic basalt – tezontl is used to squeeze the juice, and the distillation process (double or triple) takes place in copper stills .

Even Patron tequila bottles are blown the old fashioned way, with ultra premium varieties bottled in handmade crystal carafes, which are then numbered and signed.
