Pasta is usually considered the enemy of a slim figure. It turns out, however, that a diet based on this product slims down and improves well-being. Even a week of following such a diet, we can lose up to 2 kilograms.
A diet based on pasta affects not only our figure, but also improves our well-being. Its use is recommended mainly in autumn and winter, because in the colder seasons we usually have a worse mood. This type of diet is not only a way to slimmer figure, but also to depression.
Why is it worth following the pasta diet?
Tryptophan contained in pasta is an amino acid that has a positive effect on our mood. It is converted in the brain into serotonin, the happiness hormone, which is also responsible for a good night’s sleep.
There are many dietary myths around pasta – e.g. that it is fattening and forbidden for weight loss. This is not true, because the fat sauces added to pasta are mainly responsible for weight gain. It has a high content of complex carbohydrates, thanks to which it satiates for a long time and we do not want to reach for snacks between meals.
It has a lot of dietary fiber in its composition, helps to maintain blood sugar levels at the right level and fights hunger. At the same time, it reduces the desire for sweet snacks.
Carbohydrates aren’t all that bad
In many diets, carbohydrates are considered to be the main culprits of overweight, but nowadays it is known that they help maintain the proper level of serotonin in the body, which has a positive effect on our mood and psychological comfort. So they are essential for us to feel good.
100 grams of pasta is only 120kcal, and its bad reputation comes mainly from the elements added to it, such as meat or cream-based sauces or cheeses. Carbohydrates require a long burning time, so we get a dose of energy for longer and burn fat. Weight drops slowly, but it guarantees us no yo-yo effect after the end of the diet.
Diet principles:
- We eat pasta at least twice a day (for lunch and dinner),
- It is best to use durum or wholemeal pasta,
- We cook it al-dente, serving it with herbs, vegetables, olive oil,
- It is best to eat fruit for tea,
- For the first and second breakfast, yogurt with muesli and wholegrain bread,
- We give up sweets, thick sauces, meat other than poultry, preferably eating more fish and poultry,
- Every day we provide the body with 1200 kcal, using such a diet for 2 weeks.
