Passoa liqueur: description, history + 8 cocktail recipes

Liqueur Pasoa (Passoa) is a fruit liqueur made in France, the main ingredient of which is passion fruit juice. Created in 1986, the brand belongs to the Rémy Cointreau group.

Passoa liqueur was launched in 1986 in the European market and in 1994 worldwide and became a national liquor bestseller in several national markets including Puerto Rico, the Netherlands and Belgium.

History of Passoa liqueur

In 1985, Rémy Cointreau’s master distiller traveled to Brazil in search of a particular variety of orange to create a new recipe. On this trip, he discovered the incredible passionfruit fruit. Its original and exceptional flavor overshadowed everything else.

Returning to France with an exotic fruit, he was inspired to create a unique product: Passoa liqueur. This aromatic drink with a rich coral color has been produced according to the original recipe for over 30 years in an elegant black bottle.

Such rigor with incredible taste has become the hallmark of the brand.

This wonderful drink has an unspoken slogan that says: “Passoa liqueur is much more than just passion.” Since December 1, 2016, the Rémy Cointreau Group continues the production of Passoa liqueur in cooperation with Lucas Bols.

Rémy Cointreau also launched the production of ready-made cocktails based on Passoa liqueur and the classic black bottle has become brighter with a unique ornament that conveys a 100% explosion of cocktail taste upon opening.

Interesting fact! This incredible black bottle liqueur comes in ABV from 14,9% to 17% depending on the country it is exported to. Passoa liqueur quickly became a key ingredient in the most exotic cocktails. It is easy to mix with all varieties of strong and non-alcoholic drinks.

The Passoa line of liqueurs comes in 4 unique flavors:

  1. Passion fruit is a classic liqueur made with passion fruit.

  2. With pineapple flavor – Pineapple juice was added to the classic liqueur, and the result was an excellent sweet liquor that goes well with exotic fruit juices.

Cocktail Passoa Fresh

Ingredients

  1. Passoa liqueur (any) – 1/3

  2. Tonic – 2/3

  3. Ice

Method of preparation

  1. Mix all ingredients in a glass.

  2. When serving, insert the tube.

Passoa Sangria

This is a great aperitif for a big company.

Ingredients

  1. Passoa liqueur (any) – 1 bottle

  2. Rose wine – 2 bottles

  3. Orange juice – 500 ml

  4. A lot of ice

Method of preparation

  1. Add all the ingredients to a large bowl, mix and you’re done.

  2. Everyone can pour into a glass with the help of a ladle.

Passoa Beer

Ingredients

  1. Passoa liqueur (any) – 1/3

  2. Light beer – 2/3

  3. Wedge of lime

Method of preparation

  1. In a tall glass, mix chilled beer with liqueur.

  2. Garnish with a lime wedge when serving.

Passoa Ginger

Ingredients

  1. Passoa liqueur (any) – 1/3

  2. Ginger ale – 2/3

  3. Ice

  4. lime for garnish

Method of preparation

  1. Mix all ingredients in a glass.

  2. When serving, garnish with a lime wedge and insert a straw.

Passoa Rosa

Ingredients

  1. Passoa liqueur (any) – 1/4

  2. Rose wine – 3/4

  3. Water with gas – to taste

  4. grapefruit slice

  5. Ice

Method of preparation

  1. Mix all ingredients in a glass.

  2. When serving, garnish with a grapefruit slice and insert a straw.

To prepare recipes with a clear recipe, you will have to tinker a little, but the excellent result will not be long in coming. The recipes use the original passion fruit liqueur.

Cocktail Pink Passion

Ingredients

  1. Passoa liqueur – 30 ml

  2. Vodka – 30 ml

  3. Citrus juice – 1 tsp

  4. Sprite (top up at the very end)

  5. Wedge of lime

  6. Ice

Method of preparation

  1. In a shaker, mix liqueur, vodka, juice and ice. Pour into glass and top up with Sprite.

  2. When serving, garnish with a lime and insert a straw.

Cocktail Bay of Passion

Ingredients

  1. Passoa liqueur – 30 ml

  2. Vodka – 30 ml

  3. Cranberry juice – 60 ml

  4. Grapefruit juice – 60 ml

  5. Ice

  6. Cocktail cherry

Method of preparation

  1. Mix all ingredients in a shaker, pour into a tall glass.

  2. When serving, garnish with a cocktail cherry and insert a straw.

Cocktail Porn Star Martini

Ingredients

  1. Passoa liqueur – 40 ml

  2. Vodka – 40 ml

  3. Vanilla syrup – 10 ml

  4. Juice of half a lime (or lemon)

  5. Marakuya – 1 pc.

Method of preparation

  1. In a shaker, mix liqueur, vodka, citrus juice and the pulp of half a passion fruit.

  2. Strain the contents of the shaker into a glass and add ice.

  3. When serving, decorate with the second half of an exotic fruit and insert a tube.
