Probably one of the very first and most difficult questions that everyone who wants to get into the popular “Voice” project is asking is which song to go to blind auditions with. A sad song to sing or a funny one, in Russian or English, in what genre? Often, the participants of the children’s project choose not children’s songs at all, but seven-year-old Karine Mehrabyan took the stage and sang Valentina Tolkunova’s Russian-folk hit “I am a village” and hit the bull’s-eye, as they say.
As soon as she heard the folk song, Nyusha exclaimed:
“I also sang ditties as a child! And as if now I have returned to my childhood! ” And she turned the chair towards the young performer.
“Firstly, we thought it was funny: a Muscovite sings ‘I am a village girl’,” the girl’s father explained the choice of repertoire. – Secondly, my daughter has been engaged in vocals not so long ago, in total for a year and a half. As a four-year-old girl, she watched the first season of the project with great interest and insisted that she would definitely go there too! And we told her that the show only takes children from the age of seven. Karine has been waiting for the moment for three years.
In the summer, my daughter, while at the vocal class, overheard a conversation that the acceptance of applications for the new season of “Voices” had begun. First, I persuaded the teacher, then returning home, I began to ask my mother to send an application. The wife doubted for a long time, explained to Karine that they might not be allowed to blind auditions or none of the mentors would turn … what a daunting task before her!
In general, the application was sent and suddenly out of 7 thousand they were among the 600 lucky ones. And then – the merit of her daughter, she is super-communicative and, apparently, not without talent, since she was able to pass blind auditions. But among the competitors there were such children who have been studying music from almost two years old. I think that for a year of training, such a result is a very great success, which we are proud of. And we support with all our might. What will happen next is not important. To be frank, we did not expect such a result either. Of course, appetite comes with eating, but you need to be objective: my daughter has been professionally engaged in vocals for only 1,5 years. So if he doesn’t win now, then he’ll come back later (laughs). “
