Paris Fashion Week: Spring-Summer 2014

Paris Fashion Week spring-summer 2014 surprised fashion critics. Gold eyebrows, neon shades of lipstick, complete lack of makeup – Woman’s Day has collected the most interesting images from the shows.

Wide eyebrows are one of the trends that has been relevant for several seasons. However, at Paris Fashion Week, this trend still underwent some changes. So, if in previous seasons the shade of the eyebrows had to match the color of the hair, now makeup artists suggest accentuating the lines with a dark color. Both blondes, and brown-haired women, and brunettes appeared on the show with black eyebrows. Watch the shows of Celine and Balenciaga.

And Christian Dior makeup artists went even further! They suggest taking on board the golden shades of eyeshadow and pencils and drawing them on the eyebrows. This makeup looks very impressive. True, using it in everyday life is a very bold decision.

If in the fall and winter nude makeup was in beige and pink tones, then in the spring and summer of 2014, makeup artists offer to almost completely abandon cosmetics. A little gold eye shadow and transparent lip gloss – these are all the means used by specialists at the Paris Fashion Week at the shows of Isabel Marant, Maison Rabih, Vanessa Bruno, Maison Martin Margiela.

Vivien Westwood shows are always like a theatrical performance. But if for several years models went to the catwalk with bright colored spots on their faces (by the way, this makeup was chosen by Lady Gaga for shooting the cover of the album “Applause”), now makeup artists preferred to decorate the girls’ faces with several lines reminiscent of henna painting.

Spring and summer are good times for vibrant colors. At many shows, models were seen wearing neon oranges and pinks of lipstick. For the first time, such tones were demonstrated by models at the DKNY show Spring-Summer 2014 at New York Fashion Week. In Paris, make-up artists offer to paint lips in insanely bright colors at the John Galliano show.

Makeup artists Saint Laurent suggest in the spring and summer of 2014 to focus on the eyes in makeup. They lined the eyelids of the models with black pencil and shadows. The main rule: no shading and a soft transition. Makeup should look very bright, even a little aggressive.

As for the hairstyles, the stylists decided to go back to the 60s. So, at the Jean Paul Gaultier show, the models demonstrated voluminous styling in the spirit of that time. Moreover, the volume looked good on both short and long hair. The main thing is that the curls lie as naturally as possible, as if you did not style them.

And at the Veronique Branquinho show, models took to the catwalk with a page-style haircut from the 60s, similar to that of the French singer Mireille Mathieu. We have to admit that the retro style never went out of style. But it seems that in the spring-summer 2014 season it will become especially popular.
