PSYchology

Parents often themselves provoke tantrums of children with a large number of prohibitions.

Little Mary and her mother came to the seashore.

Mom, can I play in the sand?

— No, darling. You will stain your clean clothes.

Mom, can I run on the water?

— Not. You will get wet and you will catch a cold.

Mom, can I play with the other kids?

— Not. You will get lost in the crowd.

Mom, buy me ice cream.

— Not. You’ll get a sore throat.

Little Mary began to cry. The mother turned to a woman standing nearby and said:

— Oh my God! Have you ever seen such a hysterical child?
