Parental leave for a working father: paperwork

After that, the man can extend his vacation until the baby is three years old, but this part of the vacation will be unpaid.

During the vacation, a man can return to his workplace any number of times and go on vacation again. In addition, he can work from home or go to work part-time. But if a young dad goes full time, he loses his benefits.
Documents for registration of vacation
First of all, you need to write 2 statements: one that you need leave to care for a baby up to 1,5 or up to 3 years old, and the second about the appointment of benefits to you. A set of relevant certificates and other papers should be attached to the applications:
- a photocopy of the birth certificate of a son or daughter;
- a certificate from the mother’s company that she does not receive a similar leave and payments or from an educational institution that she is studying full-time.
If the father does not have a job to carry out the registration, he needs to contact the social insurance fund.
In this case, the following set of papers should be attached to the above set of papers:
- workbook;
- passport;
- an extract from the employment center stating that the man does not receive unemployment benefits.
If the father intends to additionally receive an increased allowance, as a poor person, he needs to attach an official certificate of income to the baby’s mother to the documents.
In Europe, the practice is widespread when the mother continues to work, and the father goes on vacation and takes care of the child. In our country, this is still rare, although the law allows it.
