Unfortunately, just putting a thing in the washing machine and getting rid of the stains won’t work. It’s all about paraffin, wax and other fatty components that are part of plasticine.
Freezing
For small items, such as a skirt or blouse, you can try putting the stained clothes in the freezer. Paraffin and wax harden at low temperatures, and they can be removed from the fabric. You need to scrape off plasticine from things using a hard sharp object, for example, a knife, and very carefully. If the fabric is delicate, refrain from scraping, just bend the fabric with plasticine, stretch it. The fibers will move and break the structure of the wax, the clay will eventually start to crumble.
The affected carpet will have to be cleaned with a stiff brush. To prevent the plasticine from smearing over the fibers, you need to put an ice pack on it for half an hour. Choose a hard brush. Sweep up the clay from the bottom up, from the base of the pile to the ends, otherwise you will only rub traces of creativity into the carpet.
Fighting stains
After removing the clay itself, you will find that there are greasy spots in its place. Now you need to get rid of them. If you are cleaning carpet or furniture by removing the clay, generously moisten the sponge with a chlorine-free stain remover and leave it on the stain for 5-10 minutes, then simply wash off the wax-paraffin trail.
Use an iron and a couple of simple paper towels to remove the stain from the fabric. Spread the fabric so that the stain is between two napkins, iron with a hot iron. The manipulations will have to be done several times, remembering to change the napkins, which, under the influence of temperature, should actively absorb fatty oils. As a rule, after this procedure, there is no trace of plasticine on things. Do not forget to wash the ironed item.
Home methods
To remove a stain at home, you will need: – hydrogen peroxide and laundry soap; – baking soda and soap; – gasoline for lighters or kerosene; – refined oil.
You can get rid of traces of plasticine with hydrogen peroxide and soap. To do this, lather the place of contamination (preferably with simple laundry soap), moisten it with hydrogen peroxide, and then wipe it with a small brush. True, this method is not suitable for all types of fabrics, and you need to be careful not to get a faded spot at the place of plasticine pollution. Only use peroxide on light colored fabrics.
You can use baking soda instead of hydrogen peroxide. The principle is the same: lather the stain well and sprinkle baking soda on it, leave for a couple of minutes and wash. Please note that soda should also be used with caution on colored fabrics.
