Panadol for children is a drug used for pain of various origins (teeth, head, throat, ear, painful teething), fever and pain in the course of colds and flu, after vaccinations. The drug is a suspension and can be obtained without a prescription. The active substance of the preparation is paracetamol, which has an analgesic and antipyretic effect. After oral administration, paracetamol is well absorbed from the gastrointestinal tract.

Panadol for children action
Panadol for children is a non-opioid drug with analgesic and antipyretic properties. Thanks to the active substance – paracetamol, it has an analgesic and antipyretic effect. The drug does not destroy the gastric mucosa.
Panadol for children indications and dosage
Panadol for children is indicated for pains of various genesis:
- toothache,
- headaches,
- sore throat
- ear ache,
- painful teething,
- fever,
- pain accompanying colds and flu,
- pain after vaccinations.
Dosage
The preparation is in the form of a suspension for oral use, the packaging should be shaken before taking the drug. Do not exceed the recommended daily dose.
- Children from 3 months of age Orally 15 mg / kg bw
- Do not use more often than every 4 hours.
- A dose of 60 mg / kg / day should not be exceeded.
Panadol for children contraindications
Contraindications to the use of Panadol for children are:
- hypersensitivity to any component of the preparation,
- liver or kidney failure.
- using other paracetamol-containing drugs in parallel.
Panadol for children is intended for children over 3 months of age.
Panadol for children of warnings
- Consult a doctor if symptoms persist after 3 days.
- Before giving Panadol to a child under 2 years of age, consult your doctor.
- Do not use doses higher than recommended.
- Check the presence of paracetamol in other medications taken to avoid overdosing.
- There is a risk of liver damage in people who are starving or failing.
- There may be a risk of hepatotoxicity with concomitant alcohol consumption.
- It should be used with caution in people with renal or hepatic insufficiency and in people with deficiency of glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase and methaemoglobin reductase.
- People with glucose and fructose intolerance should be careful due to the content of sorbitol and maltitol.
Panadol for children and other drugs
- When simultaneously with Panadol for children: metoclopramide, domperidone, cholestyramines, zidovudine, hypnotics, antiepileptic drugs, anti-tuberculosis drugs, MAO inhibitors, non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, consult your doctor.
- Consult your doctor when using paracetamol with anticoagulants.
- Use with MAO inhibitors may lead to excitement and an increase in body temperature.
Panadol for children and side effects
When taking Panadol for children may appear: allergic reactions, epigastric burning sensation, nausea, vomiting, thrombocytopenia, agranulocytosis. If side effects occur, please consult your doctor.
