Painting nails with acrylic paints. Video master class
If you like unusual designer manicure, master the technique of painting nails. Use not only colored varnishes, but also acrylic paints. They allow you to create patterns of varying complexity, landscapes and still lifes. An unsuccessful drawing can be washed off with plain water, and a beautiful one can be fixed with a varnish coating and kept for a week or longer.
Acrylic paints: what they are
Water-based acrylic paints are easy to use and completely safe for nails. They can be applied with brushes of various widths, mixed, use point and drip techniques, combine paints with nail polishes and other design means – foil, decorative fabric, broth beads, dry glitter, rhinestones, appliqués and dried flowers.
Paints are very convenient for novice designers. If the drawing is not very beautiful, you can wash it off with plain water. At the same time, the pattern is easily fixed with a thick layer of the top coating; after its application, acrylic paints retain their brightness and clarity for several days.
On sale you can find paints in jars, they are poured onto a palette and applied with brushes, which are purchased separately
These paints are ideal for intricate floral arrangements, landscapes, and abstract multicolor designs. In addition, they are easy to mix, achieving the desired shade. There is another option – paints packaged in bottles and equipped with a thin brush built into the lid. Such paints are convenient for creating clear patterns – a variety of lines, dots, waves.
The most commonly used glossy bright acrylic paints. But you can try other options – matte, sparkling, iridescent or metallic. To get started, buy a few basic shades in small jars, later the collection can be expanded.
To create effective compositions, the nails must be long enough. If your plates are small and narrow, glue the artificial nails
Floral technique: a million scarlet roses
Try decorating your nails with delicate flower bouquets. This technique is quite time consuming. To make the painting neat, take your time, dry the paints thoroughly and follow the sequence of drawing. It is not necessary to decorate all fingers; for a start, you can decorate one or two nails on each hand.
For decoration you will need:
- base black varnish
- acrylic paints in red, white and light green
- silver fine glitter
- plastic palette
- thin round brush
- flat brush
- small synthetic brush
- nail polish remover
- base for varnish
- top coat with shine and drying effect
- glitter brush (flat or fan-shaped)
Before starting the design, do a manicure. Remove any burrs and cuticles, and give your nails the same length and shape. Polish wavy and uneven plates, removing all grooves and irregularities.
Bright painting draws increased attention to the hands, so they must look impeccable
Think about your nail design. The drawing can be sketched on paper. Decide where the flower will be located. It is usually placed at the base of the nail, and the buds, leaves and smaller flowers are drawn closer to the tip. This composition visually lengthens the plate.
Apply a protective base to your nails. Dry it and cover the plates with a base black varnish in two coats. The enamel should be sufficiently dense and glossy. Dip a brush in nail polish remover and run it over the skin near the cuticle line to help remove streaks and bumps. With the same brush, you can even out the lateral parts of the nail. The base should be applied very carefully, the beauty of the whole composition depends on it.
Dip the brush in varnish and gently run it along the end of the nail, painting over it. The polish will last longer and the manicure will look more professional.
Make sure the varnish is completely dry. Place a drop of white and red paint on the palette. Take a flat brush and put two paints on it at once. Place the brush end on the plate where the middle of the flower will be. Draw a comma in one motion and abruptly tear the brush away from the nail – you get a white-pink petal. Dip your brush in the paint again and draw another comma, right in front of the first. You have got the middle of the rose. Using a brush, paint the petals around the center, overlapping them one on top of the other. The splendor of the flower depends on the number of petals depicted.
Do not strive to create exactly the same patterns on all nails. The beauty of handmade is in the uniqueness of each motive
Next to a blossoming rose, you can draw a couple of buds of two or three comma petals. Then dip a thin round brush in green paint and paint in the stems. Rose leaves can be drawn with a flat brush. They are drawn in the same way as the petals, but the curl is made less steep.
Once you’ve finished your drawing, cover it with a layer of top. On a dry brush, scoop up some silver glitter and add shimmery accents to the leaves and petals. Wait a couple of minutes, and then cover the composition with another layer of top, it will fix the glitter and give the drawing volume and depth.
