A quarter of an hour in an empty room (without communication devices and other sources of information) causes severe discomfort in half of men and women. And 63% of the participants in the experiment are ready to undergo an electric shock in order to interrupt painful solitude.
A quarter of an hour in an empty room (without communication devices and other sources of information) causes severe discomfort in half of men and women. And 63% of the participants in the experiment are ready to undergo an electric shock in order to interrupt painful solitude *. “We are born and die alone, and no one will share the responsibility for our life with us,” comments psychologist Yevgeny Osin. – It’s not easy to accept. Isn’t that why we are constantly looking for contacts, immersing ourselves in information flows, just not to be left alone with our thoughts? The desire to avoid loneliness by any means is a reason to think about what we do not accept in ourselves, what we are afraid to meet.
