Studies have also shown that patients complain of sore throats, headaches, legs, arms and even the whole body. Pain can be persistent and may persist throughout the illness.
Causes of pain in infection with Omikron
Experts explain that muscle aches are a common symptom of any viral infection, and Omikron is clearly no exception.
However, as more and more patients complain of such pain, this could mean that the variant affects the musculoskeletal system more than the other variants. When the virus attacks the musculoskeletal system, patients experience severe pain in the joints, bones and ligaments. As the analyzes show, Omicron infection often causes pain, especially in two places – arms and legs.
The study conducted via the ZOE COVID application also showed that patients with Omikron also suffer from gastrointestinal symptoms such as diarrhea and abdominal pain.
