Shoulder joint – pain complaints

Shoulder joint is a term commonly used by specialists and refers to the structures of the deltoid region. A series of complicated anatomical connections make the shoulder the most mobile joint in the human body, which in turn makes it more vulnerable to all kinds of damage. Shoulder and neck pain and muscle overload

Pain in the shoulder and neck is often the result of muscle overload. It occurs as a result of activities performed irregularly and related to raising hands above the shoulder line (e.g. washing windows). Overloads may occur also when performing specific (constantly repeating) movement sequences, carrying heavy objects and sleeping in an inappropriate position. As a consequence, the muscles contract, which predisposes to all kinds of damage.

Contractures are accompanied by pain, which is often a symptom of a damaged rotator cuff (muscle tendons: supraspinatus, subcapular, and subcapular) stabilizing the shoulder joint. First of all, it concerns supraspinatuswhich is sensitive to any sudden and uncontrolled movements, sudden jerks of the hand and sports activities where the ball is thrown with the upper limb raised above shoulder level (e.g. handball).

For damage to the muscles of the rotator cuff it also occurs as a result of degenerative changes, most often in people over 40 years of age. Increased tension, weakness, or damage rotator cuff muscles may cause inflammation of the subacial bursa. Such shoulder inflammation results in his severe pain when lifting his arm above the shoulder line, because then the bursa rubs against the shoulder process.

In case of emerging pain, it is worth doing compresses for the neck, neck, shoulder Visiomed KINECARE VM-GB6.
