Pain in the hands and fingers – what can they be caused by? The doctor answers

My hands hurt, especially while sleeping.

I feel my fingers ache, wake up and have to move them. It happens most often during the day, but when I move, I also feel muscle cramps. In addition, the feeling of heat and burning in the right thigh radiates towards the hip joint. I don’t take any medications. For several years I worked in harmful conditions (water and constantly wet hands). I am 52 years old, I have had radiculitis, I have problems with pain in the area of the spine, I cannot, for example, stand in one place. What tests should I do?

The symptoms presented in the list may appear in a large number of disease states, as well as in overloads or situations related to experiencing stress. I cannot recommend any laboratory or imaging tests without a detailed examination of the patient. The rationale for formulating indications for extending diagnostics is the clinical evaluation of the suffering person’s condition. The results of additional tests, apart from the information from the direct examination of the patient, are incomplete and may cause serious diagnostic mistakes.
