Characteristics of pain in lumbalgia

Lumbalgia pain usually appears unexpectedly and radiates slightly downward. The patient is then unable to straighten or move because of the pain felt and therefore usually walks forward bent; when straightening or bending, the pain noticeably increases as it radiates downwards along the back of the thigh.
