Although there are many painkillers, most over-the-counter preparations contain moderate amounts of active ingredients, so their effects can be slow or even minimal. Padolten is a prescription pain reliever designed to treat severe pain.

Padolten – how does it work and when is it used?

Padolten is a strong painkiller that combines two active substances: paracetamol and tramadol. Thanks to this combination, the effect of the drug is very strong, so the preparation is available only on prescription. Padolten is usually recommended in situations where the patient experiences severe pain that is not relieved by over-the-counter medications, including products containing acetaminophen or tramadol alone. Padolten also has a few substitutesthat is distinguished by price and sometimes dose. These are, for example, Doreta, Palgotal or Exbol. Padolten can be used by people from 12 years of age. Children and the elderly should not take it. The dosage is determined by the doctor after interviewing the patient. The most common dose of the drug is two tablets a day with an interval of 6 to 8 hours. Do not take more than eight tablets in a day, and do not change the tablet intervals as advised by your doctor. Incorrect intake of Padolten may result in complications in the form of liver damage.

Padolten – contraindications and side effects

A contraindication do using Padolten is allergic to the active substances or any of the ingredients of the preparation. Diseases that preclude taking this medication are untreated epilepsy and liver disorders. Padolten it is not combined with drugs used in the treatment of Parkinson’s disease and depression. During the consultation with the doctor, inform him about taking other medications containing paracetamol or tramadol, as well as painkillers. The patient’s ailments, such as disorders and diseases of the lower respiratory tract, any head injuries and epilepsy, as well as kidney diseases, also require detailed discussion.

Padolten can induce side effects. Often they are dizziness or increased drowsiness, less commonly digestive disorders, excessive sweating and dry mouth. Occasionally there are chills and tingling in the extremities, increased heart rate and increased blood pressure.

Padolten or ketonal?

Ketonal is one of the most popular prescription painkillers. It is very strong and its active ingredient is ketoprofen. Ketonal also has a broader spectrum of action than that Padolten – it is an anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic drug. Padolten focuses primarily on pain. For this reason Ketonal in Padolten they should not be interchangeable drugs. When taking such strong pharmacological agents, you should first of all follow the instructions of your doctor who will determine the need for a prescription and determine the appropriate dosage.
