Packaging or Result: Wday blindly tests tonics (part two)

Packaging or Result: Wday blindly tests tonics (part two)

The editorial staff of Wday.ru tried ten tonics of different brands costing from one hundred rubles to four thousand, without seeing the packaging, and shared their impressions.

The girls tested both new care products and proven tonics. We asked them to tell us how much money they would give for their favorite options. This is the second batch of tonics, and the first was last week.

The girls did not see the packaging itself – we prudently poured the tonics into small containers in order to eliminate even a hint of the cost of the product and its brand.

The research will be useful to all those who follow the beauty market and simply like to choose cosmetics and care at random, based on external factors. For example, not seeing the packaging, price and brand, the girls chose not the most expensive options as their favorites. But when they saw the bottles themselves, their hands reached out to the most beautiful ones!

1. Moisturizing cleansing toner So Hydra Skin, Ninelle, 139 rubles.

What they promise: toner effectively completes the process of cleansing the skin, removing the remnants of impurities, toning and refreshing the skin, without disturbing its PH and the degree of hydration. With regular use, visibly tightens pores, mattifies skin and prevents blackheads.

– It looks like it’s with aloe. I like the texture, it can be seen that it is nutritious, like the juice of these plants at my grandmother’s on the windowsill. It also smells like something grassy, nice.

2. Orange blossom water Santa Maria Novella, 2128 rubles.

What they promise: orange blossom water based on orange blossom essential oil. Tones and refreshes, makes the skin more elastic and soft.

– The smell is not for everybody! Bitter, but natural – it is felt that there are no chemical fragrances. Something between malt and mint with notes of orange peel. The medicinal smell and texture is more of a hydrolat – refreshing water.

3. Pure White Soothing Lotion, Eisenberg, руб 3640.

What they promise: a targeted cleansing formula for the face, neck and décolleté with the soothing and decongestant properties of Damask Rose and Cornflower Floral Water. Brightens the complexion with a combination of Bellis Perenis flower extract and vitamin C.

– I love. A simple and pleasant herbal scent, just what you need for care. It looks more like not even a tonic, but for a make-up remover – it seems to me that it will perfectly cleanse the skin of daytime impurities and cosmetics.

4. Tonic “Absolute tenderness”, L’Oreal Paris, 260 rubles.

What they promise: the Absolute Tenderness range from L’Oreal Paris is specially designed for dry and sensitive skin. Enriched with emollient ingredients, this rich toner effectively removes impurities and make-up from the face, toning the skin and leaving a feeling of comfort. Suitable for dry and sensitive skin. Does not leave a feeling of dryness and discomfort.

– It has a very pleasant dense texture and fruity aroma. It would be nice to apply it with your hands to moisturize the skin, and not with a cotton pad.

5. Tonic DR. KONOPKA’S Balancing Face toner for the face, 382 rubles.

What they promise: Balancing Facial Toner contains Dr. Konopka’s Herbal Essence No. 49 to effectively cleanse the face and neck. Lavender and sage extracts moisturize and nourish the skin.

– Calm, neutral powdery fragrance, hard to catch. Very comfortable and will suit any skin. Very pleasant application – not tacky at all.

6. Perfecting tonic, Vichy, 1160 rubles.

What they promise: Vichy’s Perfecting Toner completes the daily cleansing routine by refreshing sensitive skin. Gently and effectively removes makeup residues without leaving a sticky film. Activates air access to cells and removes toxins.

– This tonic is definitely expensive. The color is pleasant and very fresh smell. I know that he was Tanya’s favorite, but the fifth (Konopka) seemed to me more prestigious and softer to apply.

7. Shining face tonic “White Queen”, L’occitane, 1890 rubles.

What they promise: The mild formula of the toner does not contain alcohol, gives the skin a radiance and makes it truly porcelain. The unique herbal complex of the White Queen line is based on meadowsweet extract, known for its lightening properties.

– It will be good for rashes, but not for dry skin – it will dry additionally. I do not think that it is too expensive – salicylic acid is felt. After application, the feeling remains – it will appeal to those who wash off the remnants of cosmetics after washing with a tonic.

8. Anti-aging tonic Optimals Age Revive, Oriflame, 630 rubles.

What they promise: The refreshing toner removes impurities and make-up residues from the skin, tones and helps maintain the lipid barrier. Thanks to the action of panthenol, Swedish juniper and raspberry extracts, it exfoliates dead cells, tightens pores and tones up, leaving a feeling of freshness.

– This one is also not very expensive. The scent is ordinary herbal, boring, similar to my home care. This is bought by those who do not like surprises in beauty products.

9. Soothing apricot tonic Elemis, 1829 rubles.

What they promise: the tonic is very gentle as it does not contain alcohol. The basis of the tonic is made from soapwort flower. Apricot extract soothes, reduces irritation on sensitive skin areas, softens and gives a feeling of comfort.

– Looks like sample # 4 (L’Oreal). Sweet aroma of summer fruits, very light tonic. I would use it as moisturizing water in the summer – it is not so much about the feeling of freshness, but about the gentle eau de parfum without alcohol.

10. BLITHE Essence 8 Nourishing Beans, 3599 RUB.

What they promise: 8 Nourishing Beans nourishing essence evens skin tone and texture, helps natural cell renewal, oxygenates and tones skin. Stimulates collagen production, deeply moisturizes, revitalizes and rejuvenates.

– Wonderful orange flavor! The texture, by the way, is also pleasant, but not for a cotton pad – it is clearly with oils.

– I liked numbers 1 (Ninelle) and 3 (Eisenberg), but in principle I would not give more than 400-500 rubles for a tonic. If they cost that much, I’ll run after them today! The cheapest tonic seemed to me at number 7 (L’Occitane) because of the smell, and the most expensive was 6 (Vichy), probably because of the pleasant bluish tint.

– My favorites – numbers 4 (Loreal), 6 (Vichy) and 10 (Blithe) turned out to be the thickest. I liked the very idea that a tonic is needed not only for cleansing the skin, but also as an intermediate stage of moisturizing – those that are heavier will cope with this best.
