Pablo Picasso: paintings by the master sold for a record amount

According to the terms of donation, the proceeds from the sale of the canvas should be used for research and development of the university. By the way, this masterpiece, which depicts the artist’s mistress Maria-Teresa Voltaire, has not been exhibited for the past 70 years.

Another creation of the artist, “A Seated Woman in a Blue Dress”, went under the hammer for $ 28,9 million. It depicts one of the master’s companions – Frenchwoman Dora Maar, who was fond of painting and photography.

The third painting on display, entitled Bust of Françoise, sold for $ 17 million.

Another work by the artist, Reading, was sold at Sotheby`s in February for $ 40,5 million.
