Oxazepam is an anticonvulsant, sedative and hypnotic drug. It is used in the case of anxiety, anxiety and muscle tension. It is especially recommended for people who suffer from long-term depression.
Oxazepam – action
The drug contains an active substance, oxazepamwhich has an anxiolytic and sedative effect, reduces seizures and makes you feel sleepy. Therefore, it is also recommended for people suffering from alcohol or drug withdrawal syndrome. The drug reduces agitation and convulsions resulting from drug withdrawal. It also helps in stressful situations, which is why it is given to people in a state of very strong shock – e.g. witnesses, accident victims, people who survived a tragedy. The drug – by calming down – helps to control uncontrolled body movements, trembling of arms and legs, and lower the tone of the voice. It inhibits hysterical seizures.
The drug should be used for a short timebecause it’s addictive. People with personality disorders are the most susceptible to addiction, as well as former alcoholics and drug addicts. Sudden discontinuation of the drug is associated with a withdrawal syndrome – hallucinations appear, the patient is agitated and may experience epileptic seizures.
