Urszula Chincz has not been drinking for over two years
Urszula Chincz is a journalist known on YouTube as Ula Pedantula. In one of the last recordings on her channel, she admitted that she had not drunk alcohol for over two and a half years. “My motivation was health,” she said.
– Alcohol accompanied me in very small amounts. This is called French alcoholism, or a glass of wine with dinner. It turned out that the lamp was there every evening and it was getting disturbing – she revealed.
“It turned into some kind of ritual. When he was gone, I felt a lack of it. And it seemed a little disturbing to me – she added.
Chincz emphasized that drinking alcohol is an element of culture, not only in Poland. Also western. It is almost part of everyday life. She gave an example from Italy. She heard a doctor say what a healthy daily dose of alcohol was on the local television. The doctor said, «That half a bottle of wine. Half for lunch and half for dinner ».
“It sounds like a fantastic scenario,” said Chincz.
Alcohol causes cancer
Of course, the above statement by the journalist should be taken with a pinch of salt. Chincz immediately stressed that alcohol is not good for health. – This is not just a cliché displayed in bars by the obligatory tag. Alcohol is a carcinogen in many types of cancer – she said.
She admitted that she did not stop drinking alcohol overnight. She prepared herself for this by reading the relevant books and watching programs on YT.
Alcohol began to reduce gradually. In the calendar, she marked both the days when she drank alcohol (red glass) and those when she did not drink (sunshine). “It was a good habit,” she said. Over time, more and more sunshine started to appear in her calendar.
It was not easy, as she pointed out. Especially when her husband had a chilled glass of white wine in his hand. However, she managed to overcome the temptation, and the next day she woke up «rested well, after a good night’s sleep, rested, regenerated, in good shape«.

No alcohol – only pluses, no minuses
Chincz noted that she feels great in the company of drinkers, because there are many non-alcoholic alternatives. Non-alcoholic beer is one such option, especially as it has fewer calories than classic beer. There are also non-alcoholic versions of prosecco, whiskey and other strong alcohols. You can also find many such options in Italy, which, as you know, “stands for wine”.
She also mentioned another important aspect of non-alcoholic drinks. –You can take the wheel without endangering half the world – she pointed out.
Another element of not drinking alcohol is the lack of the “next day syndrome” or a hangover in the morning after a drunk party. He mentions that it happens when “brisk like a lark” listens to statements such as “yesterday evening I did not envy you, but this morning I do”.
— There are only advantages to this resignation, there are no disadvantages, I did not feel any – said Ula Pedantula. “He feels better, he feels smart and fresh,” she added.
“It’s fun to have fresh mornings”
At the end of the recording, Chincz emphasized that she did not feel the need to persuade others to give up alcohol. – I don’t have a lecture gene. We are adult people, each of us decides for himself – she said.

She raised the subject because it can be an inspiration for someone who wants to take care of their health. “And if you want to try not to drink for a week, a month or a half a year, you may not miss it or change your habits,” she said.
