Oven with microwave function. Video
Modern kitchen helpers of housewives are so diverse that it is not difficult to get confused among the abundance of household appliances. A comparative novelty in this market is the built-in oven with a microwave, positioned by manufacturers as an extremely convenient appliance. To understand whether this is so, you need to know not only its advantages, but also its disadvantages.
This is a standard oven, equipped with those found in a microwave as an additional function. This electric oven is convenient in that it can be built in at any level among kitchen furniture, without thinking about purchasing a microwave.
The cost of ovens with a microwave function can be different, from very affordable to very high. The price here is largely influenced not by the given function itself, but by the degree of brand awareness.
The main functions of such an oven
Choosing an oven with a microwave function, you should figure out what exactly you want to get from it. When it comes to grilling, convection and defrosting functions, they are present in many modern ovens. If we are talking specifically about heating in microwave mode in the oven itself in order to save free space, then you should select special models that are not offered by all manufacturers. In such ovens, the usual rotating tray in the lower part is absent, therefore, for a comprehensive heating of food, it takes a little longer than the time spent not on the direct operation of the device, but on the distribution of waves inside the product after it is turned off.
It is necessary to distinguish an oven with microwave functions from a microwave oven with modes characteristic of an oven. Such an oven is smaller, although its functionality is often no less
Advantages and disadvantages of an oven with a microwave
The advantages of such an oven are obvious: it allows you to save not only money that would have been spent on purchasing a microwave, but also free space. The latter is almost more important for medium-sized kitchens in typical apartments. As a disadvantage, it can be noted that, in terms of internal equipment, such an oven still differs from a microwave oven, therefore, it is impossible to use the function of the oven itself simultaneously with its operation as a microwave oven. Another disadvantage is the need to use special dishes, but considering that such is required for any microwave cabinet, the reasons for user dissatisfaction are not entirely clear. It is not entirely convenient that in case of overheating, the working surface over which the boiled food will spread will be much larger than in the microwave, so it will take more time to wash it.
