Out of sight: objects that spoil the interior

Filling our home with a lot of things, we stop noticing how they ruin the atmosphere: visually break the space, violate the style. To avoid such a mess, every thing must have its place.

A separate dressing room in the apartment is a real salvation for those who have a lot of outfits. It can be made with a depth of 80 cm. The dressing room serves as a storage place not only for clothes, but also for other things: an ironing board, additional hangers, a vacuum cleaner, an iron. By the way, here you can equip an outlet; if something needs to be ironed in haste, then the ironing board does not even have to be taken out. However, this option is only suitable for quick ironing: it will be both inconvenient and hot to deal with a mountain of linen there. If there is no way to arrange a dressing room in the apartment, you can get by with a wardrobe with a depth of 60 cm (photo 1), which, for example, will be in the bedroom. In its special module, you can also store household items. Another option is to design a special locker for such things, not a wardrobe one, and install it in the hallway.

The dream of all those who love order and cleanliness is a laundry room. Its area can be four, and if you really try hard, then one and a half square meters. Depending on the size, there may be a washing and drying machine, a technical sink in which you can wash shoes, a folding dryer for clothes, a table for folding them, laundry baskets, mops, basins, buckets, household rags. It is better to place household chemicals on the shelves or in cabinets (photo 2), since such products cannot be kept in the kitchen next to food. If space allows, even special storage systems can be organized in the laundry room and clean bed linen, napkins, and towels can be put there.

Displaying a number of shoes in the corridor has long been bad manners. It is better to use special storage systems: an ottoman, a bench with a drawer or a shoe cabinet (photo 3). It is worth considering that in winter shoes dry out for a long time, leaving puddles on the floor. Therefore, if there is a shoe cabinet in the hallway, then there you can organize another outlet and lay heated rugs. As a rule, they have a heating temperature of 40 to 50 degrees, consume little electricity and can be in working order around the clock. This way, your shoes will not be visible to everyone, and the bottom of the closet will remain clean. If there is no such furniture in the hallway, then it is better to remove the shoes that you are not using now, leaving one or two casual pairs. And the part of the floor where they stand can be made warm so that the shoes dry faster.

Everything here must be thought out to the smallest detail. On the sink, place not only a mixer with a retractable hose, but also a tap for the drinking water system, in this case there is no need to install a cooler with bottles. Insert a diffuser into the sink that can be filled with detergent; thanks to this invention, you will get rid of purchased containers. Pay attention to the illuminated glass panel on the back of the sink (photo 4): on top there is a box made of aluminum, which provides storage space for kitchen trifles: sponges, brushes, brushes.

If you want your kitchen to have a presentable look, you should think not only about furniture, but also about textiles. On the large and comfortable handles of household appliances (for example, ovens, dishwashers), you can hang beautiful potholders or towels that will match the style of the kitchen and act as a decor. Magnets are not welcome in a minimalistic kitchen, so even the refrigerator has a glass door to which you cannot attach such souvenirs. For magnets, you can buy a special board and fit it correctly into the interior. Or cover the wall with magnetic paint, thus creating an original “traveler’s corner”.

The kitchen is the only space in the apartment where a lot of grease and soot accumulates, especially if a gas stove is installed there. That is why it is better to literally keep everything edible behind closed doors.

All kinds of spices, bottles of oil, cereals, boxes of tea, salt, sugar and other foods that don’t belong in the refrigerator should be kept in cupboards. By the way, most of the kitchen surfaces in the photo above are made of tempered glass. This material is the easiest to clean, even more convenient than ceramic tiles, since the glass has no seams.
