Our common warts… Get rid of your head, hands and feet!

Warts are almost as common as acne. They take the form of grey-brown, lumpy growths that develop as a result of the human papillomavirus HPV. After infection, we are dealing with the proliferation of epidermal cells and locally occurring, exaggerated production of keratin.

Although warts are benign skin lesions and usually do not cause pain, it is worth avoiding them, because they are relatively easy to infect from another person, and then be written off for self-infection with chronic or recurrent warts.

Every tenth of us struggles with the HPV virus, while ¾ of the population had struggled with it at one time. 50% of warts pass spontaneously, while other people can try pharmacy products or home remedies in the fight against skin lesions. As a last resort, warts are combated by surgery.

Types of warts

HPV infection requires a tendency to be infected with a specific type of virus that must penetrate a wound on the skin.

  • Warts on the soles of the feet – rough and flat.
  • Normal warts – places prone to injuries, e.g. knees, fingers, face, around the nails, scalp.
  • Flat warts – have a smooth surface and a slight convexity. They appear on the backs of the hands or on the face.
  • Genital warts – they are elastic and lumpy. If they grow excessively, they increase the likelihood of cancer, which is why medical intervention is necessary.
  • Transient warts – found in people with low immunity. They combine the features of regular and flat warts.
  • Filamentous warts – located on the lips, face, neck and eyelids.

A trip to the edge of the forest

  • Apply the milk from the broken dandelion stem to the wart in the morning and evening.
  • The juice of celandine is rich in flavonoids, mineral salts, alkaloids and biogenic amines. After breaking the leaf, the juice is rubbed into the place affected by the wart. We should not use it in case of allergies.
  • Up to four times a day we stick a slice of crushed garlic on it.

Homemade ways

  • The paste with castor oil will be prepared after mixing the oil with baking soda. We apply topically several times a day, wrap with a bandage.
  • Squeeze the contents of the vitamin A capsule onto the wart, repeat a few times a day. Treatment lasts from 1-5 months depending on the type of wart and location.
  • Salicylic preparations are used when we are sure that the lesion is a wart. Under no circumstances should they be used by people suffering from peripheral circulatory disorders or diabetes.

Treatment removal of warts

A doctor can remove a wart by:

  • injection of corrosive substances.
  • liquid nitrogen freezing cryosurgery,
  • electrocoagulation involving the use of electricity,
  • curettage, laser removal, or excision of the wart.
