A blender is an indispensable tool for preparing a variety of dishes – mashed soups, side dishes with a uniform consistency, sauces, desserts. Rejoicing in its ease of use, we often grind foods that the blender only spoils. For what products is it categorically impossible to use it?
Mashed potatoes
The blender destroys the structure of the potatoes, during which starch is released and the puree becomes viscous, sticky and stony. Mashed potatoes are kneaded exclusively by hand.
Hot liquids
You want to beat the ingredients for the puree soup with a blender faster, but if you add the soup that has just been removed from the stove to the blender bowl, then strong pressure forms inside due to hot steam and there is a possibility that the soup will scatter throughout the kitchen. Let it cool for 10-15 minutes and only then beat in small portions.
Frozen food
The blender is not designed to work with hard ingredients, and frozen fruits or vegetables will simply break the mechanism. And if not, then surely there will be whole pieces in the puree. Defrost them well at room temperature or microwave before whisking.
Dried fruits
The skin of viscous dried or cured foods will not give in to beating with a blender. This is fraught with breakdown of the kitchen unit. To puree dried fruits, soak them well in warm water to soften their structure.
Harsh spices
Hard spices, like freezing, are not meant to be blended. Too small, moreover, they run the risk of not being ground up. Better to use a mortar and bowl or coffee grinder.
Coffee beans
If you are a fan of coffee, it is best to purchase a coffee grinder for the beans. The blender will grind them unevenly, which will certainly affect the quality and taste of the finished drink. And do not forget to take care of the technique – hard coffee beans can damage the blender.
May your meals always be delicious!
