- Curd chemical diet: menu
The diet of the American professor Osama Hamdiy “came out into the people” from clinical studies aimed at combating obesity in diabetics. However, this meal plan, which allows you to comfortably lose weight without suffering from hunger, has proved to be effective for those who, fortunately, do not suffer from endocrine diseases. A chemical diet reprograms metabolic processes in the body, and it must be followed as carefully as a doctor’s prescription.
Dr. Hamdiy promises the most noticeable result of changing nutrition to those of his patients whose weight exceeds 100 kg – on a chemical diet they can get rid of a third of it. However, it is important to remember that it is highly undesirable to carry out such a tangible “dumping of excess” on your own, you need to enlist the full-time professional support of a doctor and lose weight comprehensively, changing your lifestyle under constant medical supervision.
Duration of the chemical diet: 4 weeks, if necessary, it is repeated according to the menu scheme of the first week + the menu of the fourth week;
Features: designed for those suffering from pre-diabetic and diabetic conditions;
Cost: average;
Result: depends on the initial weight, minus 10-30 kg;
Recommended frequency: no more than once a year;
Additional effect: reduced cravings for sweets, control of hunger attacks;
Osama Hamdiy’s diet is not suitable: pregnant women, lactating women, suffering from diseases of the gastrointestinal tract and excretory tract, with allergies to protein, eggs and citrus fruits. Before starting a diet, you should consult your doctor!
Osama Hamdiy’s chemical diet and other successes of its creator
Doctor of Medicine, Professor Osama Hamdiy is a figure recognized in modern medicine. He successfully leads the clinical obesity program at the American Jocelyn Clinic, affiliated with Harvard Medical School. The scientific interests of Dr. Hamdiy are broad, but the main subject of his research remains cardiovascular processes and diabetes mellitus.
Before the Osama Hamdiy diet was invented, research teams led by the professor studied the rapid and long-term effects of weight loss in patients with type 2 diabetes and the cardiometabolic complications of obesity. Osama Hamdiy’s professional experience has contributed to the implementation of large-scale national American programs to prevent diabetes; thanks to his efforts at the state level, medical measures were taken to improve the quality of life of diabetics. In addition, it was under the leadership of a doctor that the first comprehensive clinical program Why WAIT? (“Why wait?”), Which helps patients with diabetes mellitus to lose weight while reducing the amount of medication they take.
The professor’s trademark and ticket to worldwide popularity was his book “Diabetic Breakthrough”, co-authored with Sheri Koldberg, MD. In it, doctors described the weight loss system, assuring that it is based on scientific evidence and guarantees improved health in just 12 weeks. This scientific and writing work is addressed, first of all, to those who are at risk of developing a diabetic disorder or already suffer from diabetes.
However, all over the world, including in Russia, the nutrition plan developed by Osama Hamdiy became known in itself and is used for weight loss and health improvement without any connection with endocrine diseases. Diet of Osama Hamdiy is also known “among the people” as the “chemical diet”.
Is there chemistry in a chemical diet?
Judging by the word of mouth, it can be assumed that the diet of Osama Hamdiy is based on the use of some synthetic substances. But no, the doctor, on the contrary, belongs to the number of doctors of that rare category who pin their hopes on the internal reserves of any organism and the maximum limitation of the number of medications taken.
In his book, Osama Hamdiy explains that his dietary approach is based on the principle of changing the chemical processes in the body. Losing weight does not occur due to a reduction in the intake of calories, but due to the fact that protein begins to prevail in the diet, and the amount of carbohydrates (carbohydrates), on the contrary, decreases. When faced with a shortage of available energy, usually from carbohydrates, the body switches to a different metabolic regime and uses up the accumulated fat reserves.
The advantage of a protein diet over a diet that reduces the amount of food in general and high-calorie foods in particular is that the actual protein reserves remain intact and the muscles do not undergo dystrophic changes. This provides the Osama Hamdiy diet (and any other protein diet) with a long-term effect – the muscle corset that keeps the body in shape not only does not weaken, but also gets stronger, especially if the protein diet is accompanied by physical activity, for example, weight loss exercises.
For those suffering from pre-diabetic or diabetic conditions, a protein chemical diet is also a godsend because the slow absorption of proteins insures the body against “spikes” in blood sugar levels. Protein protects against the feeling of an empty stomach for a long time – the chemicals ketones, released as a result of the breakdown of proteins, effectively suppress hunger.
Osama Hamdiy’s diet: nine simple rules
If the amount of food is not specified exactly – eat until you are full, but do not overeat.
Weigh yourself and record your weight daily, after the morning toilet and in light home clothes. Use sensitive electronic scales with minimal error.
If you feel unbearable hunger (which is rare, but happens on a chemical diet), eat cucumbers or tomatoes, but preferably not earlier than 2 hours after the last meal.
Drink enough plain water (about 2 liters per day).
Boiled vegetables (potatoes are prohibited!) Are cooked in boiling water without adding salt and oil.
Drinking tea and coffee is allowed, but without added sugar and milk, you should also refrain from fructose.
When choosing fruits, avoid bananas, grapes, mangoes, dates, figs and focus on apples, grapefruits, oranges, plums, tangerines, kiwi.
If you want the chemical diet of Osama Hamdiy to bring an even more pronounced result, at the end of the thirty-day cycle, it can be repeated, however with changes: two weeks on the menu of the first week and two more on the menu of the fourth.
If for any reason you interrupted Osama Hamdiy’s diet, start over.
Those who decide on the Osama Hamdiy diet should be prepared for the frequent use of eggs: this healthy product will need to be eaten not only for three weeks in a row for breakfast, but also from time to time – for lunch and dinner. This is probably why the chemical diet is sometimes referred to as the egg diet.
When buying meat, fish and chicken for your diet, choose the least fatty cuts and varieties. You will not be left completely without fat – all protein foods contain hidden non-removable lipids. Chicken should be eaten free of skin.
The last meal on this diet is allowed two hours before bedtime, and the intervals between breakfast, lunch and dinner should not be shorter than two hours.

Would you like an egg? Please have some cottage cheese!
Under the name of a chemical diet, an alternative is also known, in which eggs are replaced with cottage cheese. This meal plan is also attributed to Osama Hamdiy, but no connection has been traced in official sources.
Technically, the nutritional value of cottage cheese and eggs can be comparable, respectively, and the chemical effect of changing metabolism when following this diet option for weight loss will be observed. However, the diet of the chemical curd diet is more meager and strict.

Interview
I honestly followed all the rules, but I did not manage to lose weight.
My result is rather modest – from 1 to 3 pounds dropped.
My weight loss result is average – from 3 to 5 kg, which I managed to lose during the diet.
I “dropped” more than 5 kg on the diet of Osama Hamdiy.
The diet works! I practice it regularly to lose a few pounds.
