The orthopedic corset is used to inhibit developing spine defects by more efficiently distributing forces and strengthening its stabilization. Most common in children and adolescents, i.e. at the age when the spine is still developing and is susceptible to deformation. Also used in adults for the rehabilitation of the spine.

  1. lateral curvature of the spine (scoliosis),
  2. kyphosis (“round back”, more than 20 degrees backward curve of the spine),
  3. lordosis (greater than 20 degrees forward curve of the spine).

Passive it is eliminating the pathological position of the vertebrae and compressing the place of curvature (and thus preventing the movement of tissues). Active correction it is restoring the proper muscle structure, as well as preventing the deepening of the curvature.

You can’t assume right away corset for the whole day. You should get used to it gradually. For the first two days, it is recommended to wear it six hours a day in three sessions of two hours each. On the third and fourth day, the total daily wear time should be 10 hours – 2-3 hours at a time. From the fifth day, 16 hours a day is recommended, and from the seventh – 22 hours a day.
