The temperature range varies depending on the season. The flower does not like heat, even in summer temperatures should not exceed 22-23ºC. In winter, care must be taken to ensure that the temperature does not drop below 15ºC.
Since begonia naturally grows in tropical and subtropical regions, it needs to be provided with high humidity. But you cannot spray the plant, as ugly brown spots will appear on the leaves. You can do it differently:
- put a flowerpot with a plant on an inverted pallet;
- place a pallet with a flowerpot in another pallet;
- pour expanded clay into the second pallet;
- pour some water.
As it evaporates, the water must be refilled periodically. By evaporating, the water will maintain the right moisture balance for this tropical plant. If the tips of the leaves dry out, the air in the room is too dry.
On hot days, watering should be plentiful, but at the same time, stagnation of water in a pan or pot should not be allowed, this is detrimental to the roots. Watering the plant is necessary only when the top layer of the substrate dries about 10-15 mm. In winter, watering should be moderate. When watering, you need to make sure that the water does not get on the leaves, otherwise ugly stains will appear on them.
You need to repot the begonias as needed, when the roots completely fill the old pot. It is better to do this in early spring. After transplanting, the plant needs to be looked after more carefully for a month until it gets used to the new container.
