Organ transplant. The first such course in Poland and in Central and Eastern Europe

On June 09-11, 2021, the Department and Clinic of General and Transplant Surgery is organizing a course in the collection and storage of abdominal organs from deceased donors. The Medonet website was the partner of the event.

The training called International Donor Surgery and Organ Preservation Masterclass will cover theoretical part and practical exercises. 23 doctors from Poland, Sweden, Lithuania and Bulgaria will take part in the course.

The topics and scope of the course include the evaluation and qualification of organ donors, surgical techniques for organ donation – kidney, pancreas and liver, organ storage techniques, including mechanical perfusion (in hypo- and normothermia).

Nine foreign lecturers who are world experts in organ collection and storage have confirmed their participation.

The event was held under the patronage of the Rector of the Medical University of Warsaw, the Polish Transplantation Society, Poltransplant and President M. St. Of Warsaw. The media patronage of the course was taken by Medonet.

The course is accredited by the European Accreditation Board for Continuing Medical Education (EACCME) of the European Union of Medical Specialist (UEMS).

It is the first such course in Poland and in Central and Eastern Europe.
