Orange Pie: Cooking Recipe
First you need to prepare the oranges: dissolve granulated sugar in a saucepan of water. Putting on low heat, bring to a boil and simmer for 8-10 minutes with frequent stirring to thicken the syrup a little. Cut the unpeeled oranges into slices (lengthwise) and remove the seeds. Each circle should be approximately 3-5 millimeters thick. Dip chopped oranges in a saucepan with sugar syrup and simmer for 15 minutes over very low heat. Arrange the orange slices carefully.
While the oranges are cooling, you need to prepare the pie dough. Peel 1 orange, cut into small pieces and remove the seeds and chop in a blender.
Separate the egg whites from the yolks. Beat the whites with a mixer with half the norm of granulated sugar. Beat for 5 minutes. Thoroughly grind the remaining granulated sugar with egg yolks and add pre-softened butter. Stir well and pour in sour cream and orange gruel. Sift flour and mix with baking powder.
Gently combine the yolk mass with the whipped whites and, gradually adding flour, knead the dough. Line a baking dish (preferably round) with baking paper. After lubricating the bottom and walls of the mold with vegetable oil, sprinkle it with granulated sugar. Remove excess sugar and put orange circles on the bottom, overlapping them.
Spoon the dough over the oranges. Preheat the oven to 180 degrees. Place the orange pie in the oven for 50 minutes.
