Optimum Nutrition: A Bit of History.

Optimum Nutrition Inc. the owner of the famous brand Optimum Nutrtion (ON) was founded by two Costello brothers (Tonu & Michael Costello) in 1986. At one time, realizing in time the prospects for the development of the sports nutrition industry through high quality and innovative vision, the enterprising brothers launched a brand that meets the above two requirements. A key factor in the success of the company and the brand, in particular, was a product called 100% Whey Gold Standard, which is the bestseller to this day. After 22 years of success, the Costello brothers have entered into an agreement to sell the company to the Glanbia Group, a leading international manufacturer of dairy and food ingredients.

 

Today ON is one of the world leaders in the production and distribution of sports nutrition. ON owns and operates two brands: Optimum Nutrition, which has become recognized in the Russian sports nutrition market, and the American Body Building popular in America, offering consumers a wide range of nutritional supplements for athletes, ranging from protein bars, protein complexes and sports drinks to vitamins, mineral additives. ON manufactures its products in state-of-the-art factories owned by the company and located throughout the United States. Own production enables the company to exclude the possibility of counterfeiting and to control the quality control of products manufactured by ON.

The quality assurance provided by ON is also one of the key factors in the company’s success. This fact is confirmed by the implementation of product quality control throughout the entire production process, from the selection of suppliers of raw materials to the release of finished products.

 

Suppliers undergo a rigorous selection, confirming the quality of their products with certificates of conformity for each range of supplied raw materials. In the future, certified raw materials are randomly checked in our own and independent laboratories, where high-precision equipment confirms the good quality and effectiveness of each ingredient included in the production of ON products.

Further more, in order to reduce the likelihood of the ingress of harmful substances, whether of physical, chemical or microbiological origin, ON has developed and implemented its own Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point program called HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point). Every day, specially qualified personnel carry out a thorough inspection of storage areas, as well as rooms where products are mixed and manufactured. All these activities allow Optimum Nutrition to offer its consumers high quality sports nutrition that meets the most stringent cGMPs (current Good Manufacturing Practices) quality standards.
