Onion fries: 2 great recipes

Onion fries are a delicious treat that will diversify your menu. It is useful in the autumn-winter period of attack of viruses and infections, it will be appropriate in the summer – with beer or kvass.

And fries can also be added to a salad, used as a decoration for appetizers, served with meat and fish as a side dish.

Classic fries

1. Cut the onion into strips or rings.

 

2. Deep-fry until golden brown and crispy. You can brew the onion in flour, then the crust will turn out better.

3. Remove the fried onions with a slotted spoon and place on paper towels to remove excess oil.

Fried onion in batter

Ingredients:

  • Egg – 1 pc. 
  • Vegetable oil – 60 ml.
  • Flour – 200 ml.
  • Salt – 1/2 tsp
  • Onions – 2 pcs
  • Flour – 100 ml. 
  • Vegetable oil – 150 ml.
  • Milk – 200 ml.

Preparation: 

1. First, mix the egg, butter and milk in a deep container and beat with a mixer at low speed for 1 minute.

2. Next, slowly add all loose ingredients and mix until smooth.

3. Onions should be cut into rings, dipped in flour and then dipped in dough.

4. Pour the oil into a deep skillet or a small saucepan and dip the onion rings there one at a time and fry until crispy.
