Omnic is a prescription-only medicine for men. It is used to treat an enlarged prostate gland. Find out about the action, indications and contraindications for the use of Omnic.

Omnic – action

The active substance of the drug tamsulosin. Omnic is available only on prescription.

Tamsulosin has diastolic properties for smooth muscles of the prostate and urethra. As a result, the urinary flow paths are enlarged, and the process itself is facilitated.

The drug is absorbed quickly. The absorption may be slowed down when the tablet is taken after a meal. Taking the drug in the variant of prolonged action extends the absorption time to 24 hours. In this case, tamsulosin is released into the body gradually.

Omnic – indications

Omnic is used in people with benign prostatic hyperplasia, i.e. with symptoms related to the lower urinary tract.

Omnic – contraindications

Hypersensitivity or allergy to the active substance or any other component of the drug is a contraindication to its use. In addition, Omnicu should not be used by people who:

  1. have angioedema caused by previous intake of the active substance of the drug,
  2. suffer from orthostatic hypotension,
  3. have liver failure, especially acute.

Omnic – extreme caution

Some people should be especially careful when using the drug. Inform your doctor about all medications you are taking, including over-the-counter medications. So far, not enough studies have been carried out to confirm the complete safety of the drug in people with renal insufficiency. Therefore, they should be especially careful during treatment and be under constant medical care.

People who are undergoing cataract surgery should discontinue or delay the start of treatment with Omnic. There is a risk of an intraoperative flaccid iris syndrome.

Ostrostatic hypotension may be diagnosed in the event of an excessive drop in blood pressure (followed by syncope). The patient should sit down until the symptoms subside, and then see a doctor.

Due to the lack of studies on the safety of use in children and adolescents, the use of the drug in this group is not recommended.

Omnic – side effects

If the drug is used despite contraindications or exceeding the recommended dose, the following side effects may occur:

  1. dizziness,
  2. difficulty ejaculating (impaired or absent)
  3. headaches,
  4. palpitations,
  5. mucositis,
  6. digestive difficulties (diarrhea, constipation),
  7. rash,
  8. edema,
  9. fainting.

Omnic – dosage

The exact dosage of the drug is determined by the doctor after analyzing the individual case.

The manufacturer recommends taking 1 capsule a day orally after a meal (preferably with breakfast). Then the tablet should be washed down with a sufficient amount of water without chewing it.
