Olfen UNO – action
Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory / analgesic drug whose effectiveness in inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis has been confirmed in animals in typical experimental models of inflammation. In humans, diclofenac reduces inflammation-related pain, swelling and fever.
In addition, diclofenac inhibits adenosine diphosphate (ADP) and collagen-induced platelet aggregation. The mechanism of action of diclofenac is based on inhibition of prostaglandin synthesis by inhibiting the activity of prostaglandin cyclooxygenase and reducing the content of arachidonic acid in granulocytes.
Following oral administration of gastro-resistant formulations, diclofenac is completely absorbed distally from the stomach. The achievement of the maximum serum concentration depends on the gastric transit time and is 1 to 16 hours, an average of 2 to 3 hours.

Olfen UNO – precautions
Taking Olfen UNO at the lowest effective dose for the shortest duration necessary to relieve symptoms reduces the risk of side effects. The concomitant use of diclofenac with other systemically acting NSAIDs should be avoided, including selective cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) inhibitors, due to the lack of evidence on the benefits of combined use and the potential for a potential increase in side effects.
Olfen UNO should be used with caution in the elderly. In elderly, debilitated or low weight patients, it is recommended to use the lowest effective dose.
Before taking Olfen Uno, tell your doctor if you have recently or are due to have had surgery on your stomach or gastrointestinal tract, as Olfen Uno sometimes reduces the wound healing process in the gut after surgery.
The drug may mask symptoms of infection (e.g. headache, increased body temperature) and make it difficult to diagnose it properly. During medical examinations, inform your doctor about the use of the drug.
The use of medicines like Olfen UNO may be associated with a small increase in the risk of heart attack (heart attack) or stroke. This risk is increased by long-term ingestion of high doses of the drug. Higher doses and longer treatment times than recommended should not be used. If you have heart problems, have had a stroke, or suspect that you are at risk for these disorders (e.g. high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, smoking), discuss treatment with your doctor or pharmacist.

- diagnosed with asthma, allergic rhinitis, swelling of the nasal mucosa (eg due to nasal polyps), chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or chronic respiratory infections.
