Olbas Pastilles is a preparation recommended for the symptomatic treatment of sore throats and hoarseness and as an aid in the course of colds, cough and runny nose. The tablets dissolving in the mouth produce essential oils that soothe the congestion of the throat and nose, reduce sore throat and facilitate breathing. In addition, the clove oil contained in the drug has an antibacterial effect.

What is Olbas Pastilles?

Olbas Pastilles is a preparation that is recommended for use in patients with diseases of the throat and upper respiratory tract. This drug contains a large amount of natural plant ingredients, such as juniper oil, clove oil and peppermint. These oils have soothing properties, liquefy the residual secretions and make it easier for the patient to breathe. Menthol and methyl salicylate found in Olbas Pastilles additionally have an analgesic (local) effect.

Olbas Pastilles is used for the symptomatic treatment of a sore throat and hoarseness. Incidentally, in colds, cough and runny nose.

Dosage

Olbas Pastilles comes in the form of soft lozenges that should be taken as directed. Remember not to exceed the permissible dose of the drug, as it will not increase the effectiveness of the preparation, and may only harm your health or life. If in doubt, consult a doctor.

Adults and children over 12 years of age: slowly dissolve the lozenge in the mouth. Take no more than 8 lozenges a day.

Olbas Pastilles and contraindications and warnings

Contraindications to taking Olbas Pastilles are:

  1. hypersensitivity to the ingredients in the preparation,
  2. inflammatory diseases of the kidneys,
  3. liver failure;
  4. children under the age of 12;
  5. use during pregnancy and breastfeeding (consultation with a doctor is necessary before use);

  7. if you use other drugs – inform your doctor.

Olbas Pastilles and drug interactions

Although Olbas Pastilles has not been found to interact with other medications, it is worth informing your doctor about all medications you take, including those obtained without a prescription.
