Olbas oil consists of volatile oils that evaporate at room temperature. It is intended for use in the form of the so-called free inhalation or steam inhalation. Inhaled volatile oils contained in the product liquefy the secretions and reduce swelling of the nasal mucosa, and facilitate breathing.

THE ACTIVE SUBSTANCE
- Cajeputi oleum 18,50 g
- Caryophylli floris aetheroleum (clove oil) 0,10 g
- Eucalypti aetheroleum (eucalyptus oil) 35,45 g
- Juniperi aetheroleum (juniper oil) 2,70 g
- Menthae arvensis aetheroleum (peppermint oil) 35,45 g
- Methylis salicylas (methyl salicylate) 3,70 g
- Levomentholum (mentol) 4,10 g
ACTION
Olbas oil has anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties, does not cause side effects and can be used for a long time, it can be taken in parallel with other rhinitis remedies. It soothes the symptoms of colds and sinusitis. Olbas Oil can also be applied externally to the skin. The preparation applied to the skin has a cooling and mild analgesic effect, soothes rheumatic and muscular pains.
Olbas Oil – indications and dosage
Olbas Oil is an inhalation preparation recommended in:
- colds,
- Cathar
- flu
- rhinitis,
- paranasal sinus disease,
- rheumatic and muscle pains.
Dosage of Olbas Oil
Inhalations: runny nose occurring during colds, auxiliary in diseases of the paranasal sinuses. Olbas oil can be used in dry and wet inhalation.
- Adults and children over 7 years of age: sprinkle a handkerchief or the back of the hand with 2-3 drops and inhale the evaporating vapors. The evaporation effect can be enhanced by adding a few drops of essential oil to a cup of warm (not hot) water.
- Children from 3 to 7 years: sprinkle a handkerchief with 2-3 drops, give it for inhalation from a short distance. For use during sleep, sprinkle a piece of fabric with 2-3 drops of the oil and place it near the baby or sprinkle 2-3 drops of the oil on the duvet cover.
Outwardly: rheumatic and muscle pains.
- Adults: in rheumatic and muscular pains, rub a small amount of the oil into the sore spots up to 3 times a day.
Olbas Oil – warnings
- It should not be used by people with allergic diseases of the respiratory system and asthma without consulting a doctor.
- It should not be used externally in children and adolescents.
- Do not use in patients suffering from atopic dermatitis.
- Do not use on damaged skin.
- Do not use in children under 3 years of age, in children under 7 years of age it should be used only in the form of free inhalation.
- Do not apply the preparation around the face of children.
- Do not use orally.
- Kajeput oil, a component of Olbas Oil, contains methyl eugenol. Studies with the oral ingestion of kajeput oil indicate that metabolites of methyl eugenol may be mutagenic.
- Pregnancy is not recommended. No safety data available.
