Acne spoils our mood very easily and discourages us from leaving the house. Today on the market you can find many different preparations, created just to fight acne, to improve the appearance of the skin. The simplest natural ointments available at any pharmacy are usually effective. Check what acne ointments are worth trying.
Acne ointments – vitamin A ointment
Acne ointment with vitamin A, available in every pharmacy and drugstore, has a soothing effect on skin inflammation. It makes redness and acne visible to me. This acne ointment can be applied to the entire face, preferably at night, it will keep it nourished and more supple. The price of such an acne ointment with vitamin A is about 3 zlotys.
However, it is impossible not to mention the ointments for acne with vitamin A available on prescription, i.e. the so-called local retinoids. Topical retinoids are a class of medications (also in the form of ointments) available with a prescription used to control blackhead acne. Also called retinoic acid or vitamin A acid. They work by exfoliating dead skin cells as well as stimulating the production of new cells and eliminating clogged pores. Retinoids also exhibit anti-inflammatory properties.
Retinoids may be prescribed alone or in combination with other acne medications, such as antibiotics, benzoyl peroxide, or salicylic acid.
Acne ointments – propolis ointment
The use of propolis ointment on the face can be very effective in reducing acne lesions. Propolis reduces their number and intensity. Propolis is effective against acne in people with sensitive, acne-prone skin. It is effective due to its antibacterial nature, as well as anti-inflammatory properties, and soothes skin redness. In other words, propolis not only eliminates the existing acne, but also prevents its further development.
Another famous feature of propolis ointment is its role in the fight against free radicals. Propolis protects the skin from the harmful effects of the environment that we cannot avoid in everyday life, such as air pollution, sun exposure and radiation. Simply put, we run a high risk of skin damage throughout the day.

Free radicals resulting from such environmental pollution damage the skin, ranging from skin color changes (discoloration and brown spots on the skin) to skin weakening (wrinkles and premature skin). Free radicals damage the skin by capturing an extra electron from atoms in the skin, and the antioxidants in propolis protect the skin by donating electrons to these free radicals. Propolis, rich in antioxidants, protects the skin against free radicals and makes the skin look young and radiant – no acne lesions!
The positive effect of propolis on free radicals also turned out to be effective in healing acne lesions. Along with the collagen barrier made of propolis, which helps to find the right balance of the skin, propolis accelerates the healing process, creating a healthy barrier for the skin. If you have pimples, unattractive brown spots, acne scars, propolis can be helpful in starting not only the prevention and treatment of acne itself, but also its aftermath.
Propolis ointment can be applied to the entire face. An ointment with 7% propolis is especially recommended for acne.
We recommend Cream Ointment with Propolis and Propolis Ointment, which you can conveniently order at Medonet Market.
Acne ointments – Benzacne
Another quite popular and effective ointment for acne is an ointment containing in its composition bezoil peroxide. It is an over-the-counter medication that is used to treat mild to moderate acne. Acne ointment with bezoil peroxide can be used in conjunction with other acne treatments. When applied to the skin, benzoyl peroxide works by reducing the amount of acne lesions. Usually, treatment with such an ointment lasts at least four weeks and must be applied continuously to stop the multiplication of bacteria that cause acne lesions.
Benzacne is an acne ointment available on the Polish market that contains anhydrous peroxide. The ointment can be purchased in 5% and 10% versions. This acne ointment is an over-the-counter medication. It should be used with caution. This acne ointment can cause skin dryness if too much is applied. Benzacne acne ointment has antibacterial and drying properties. It can be used during the day.
In most cases, the opinions of the benzacne ones are positive. Bezacne users praise it for its affordable price (about PLN 15), effectiveness, speed of action (healing acne lesions), efficiency, reducing the number of pimples and their drying.

For milder acne, salicylic acid helps to unblock the pores, clearing out and preventing lesions. It does not affect the production of sebum and does not kill bacteria. It has to be used continuously, like benzoyl peroxide because salicylic acid ointment stops working when you stop using it – pores clog again and acne comes back.
