Oily skin care in summer

Oily skin is capricious, vindictive, does not tolerate neglect – and these traits of her character are especially noticeable in hot weather. We list 5 mistakes that are most often made by owners of this type of skin in the summer.

Mistake #1: Overcleansing

Overcleansing the skin has a negative impact on its health.

In the heat, under the influence of high temperature and ultraviolet radiation, along with the sweat glands, the sebaceous glands become more active. In the summer, you want to wash your face once again to get rid of oily sheen and freshen up. However, it is important to remember that with the help of sebum, the skin strengthens the hydrolipidic film, protecting itself from dehydration, as well as from the damaging effects of the sun.

Mistake #2: Not Hydrating

It would seem that the skin is already oily, protected – why does it need a moisturizer in the heat? Owners of oily skin consider “drying” the main task and are greatly mistaken. After all, only skin with a sufficient supply of moisture is able to fully function.

Moisturizing is especially necessary for owners of oily skin after 30 years, when the visible effects of photoaging are also added, and the “margin of safety” is no longer the same as at 14 years old. Especially for oily skin, we have developed a variety of moisturizers and optimal textures.

Mistake #3: Neglecting sun protection

Girls still believe that acne, which often appears on oily skin, makes sense to substitute the sun – it will neutralize the infection and dry the skin. Ultraviolet rays really have disinfecting properties, but do not dry out, but dry the skin in full force. This is tantamount to undermining her defenses. Dehydrated oily skin often becomes even more oily, not to mention the other harmful effects of sun exposure.

The damage caused by UV rays tends to accumulate, and an overdose of tanning in youth can cause serious problems in adulthood.
Of course, you don’t want to apply sunscreen on top of the care. But this is a necessity, even if the packaging of BB cream is marked SPF 15. In summer, it is not enough for any phototype, except, perhaps, African. Now there are sunscreens on the market specifically for oily skin. As a rule, they have a matting effect and a light texture.

Pay attention not only to SPF. Full protection from ultraviolet radiation is provided only by products that include filters from UVA rays. This is indicated by the UVA label in a circle or PPD.

Mistake number 4: frequent touching of the face

Touching your face with your hands is a very bad habit.

From childhood, we are taught not to touch our face with our hands. But in the heat, one wants to break this rule, especially if the skin is oily, sweats and becomes sticky. Okay, touch your face – not with your fingers, but with a matting wipe (no, an antibacterial hand wipe will not work).

Do not forget about such refreshing products as a moisturizing mist and thermal water. Also, the anti-oily sheen spray will not hurt.

Mistake #5: Using talcum powder

The use of powder with talc contributes to clogging of pores.

In the summer, owners of oily skin update their makeup several times a day with a compact powder. It would seem a common thing: the powder absorbs excess sebum and mattifies the skin, creating (with a good choice of product) an even tone. But the composition of such products often contains talc, which contributes to clogging of pores. Mineral powders will help out.
