Oily facial skin: how to care for your skin? Video
Oily facial skin is the result of the high intensity of the sebaceous glands in combination with the thick outer stratum corneum of the epidermis. Due to the active release of sebum, plugs are formed, “sealing” the pores and leading to the appearance of blackheads, acne and other inflammations.
There are several reasons for oily skin:
- hormone-mediated fat production. In this case, only correctly selected cosmetics can help, which will hide wide pores, remove oily sheen, and reduce the tendency to the appearance of acne.
- abuse of the use of cleansers and mechanical peeling procedures. This causes the skin to protect itself from dehydration by releasing even more oil.
- the use of alcohol-containing compositions. Alcohol, which is contained in some cosmetics, is able to dissolve sebum and dry the skin intensively. In response to this action, the sebaceous glands begin to secrete fat even more actively.
- the presence of disorders of the endocrine or nervous systems, as well as diseases of the gastrointestinal tract.
- improper nutrition. Therefore, pay special attention to your diet and food quality. Eat food in small portions 4-5 times a day, minimize the amount of flour and sweet, exclude fatty.
Give preference to vegetables and fruits, boiled meat and fish, low-fat dairy products, buckwheat and wholemeal bread
Oily skin care at home should be done regularly. Start treatment with daily preventive measures. So, 2 times a day, use a gel for washing. Spread it over your face and rub it into the skin with a massage brush for 3-5 minutes, paying special attention to problem areas. Also exfoliate 2-3 times a week with soft gels that are not only exfoliating but also nourishing. These products can unclog pores and reduce the risk of acne breakouts. Even oily skin needs nutrition, so use creams, but not oily ones. And finally, to normalize the action of the sebaceous glands, 2 times a week, do pore-tightening and anti-inflammatory masks.
Masks, lotions and toners for oily skin
For oily skin care, give preference to masks that include fruits, vegetables, berries, rose petals, parsley, mint, sage, chamomile and linden flowers. They deeply cleanse and tighten pores, nourish and moisturize the skin.
Lemon curd mask is an excellent remedy that visibly improves the condition of oily skin.
To prepare it, you will need:
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 3 tablespoons of cottage cheese
Mix the ingredients thoroughly and apply the composition to the skin. Then, cover your face with a thin eye-cut cloth and lie down quietly for 20-30 minutes. Wash yourself with cool water.
Apple mask for oily skin: Mix 1-2 finely grated apples with well-beaten egg white. Apply this mixture on the face and neck, after 20 minutes, rinse with warm water.
For oily skin, prepare an effective herbal toner. In equal parts, mix the field horsetail, tricolor violet, calendula and chamomile flowers, oak or willow bark. Now pour 1 tablespoon of herbs with 1 glass of hot water (boiled) and let it brew for 30 minutes. Then strain and dilute with boiled water in equal proportions. Wipe the skin with the resulting infusion daily.
For the treatment of acne, calendula lotion will help you: pour 20 g of calendula with 100 g of 70% alcohol. Let it brew for a week and strain.
Use the product very carefully, wipe only problem areas with it
In the fight against boils and acne, use the infusion of St. John’s wort. So, pour 2 tablespoons of St. John’s wort with 1 glass of hot water and simmer for 5 minutes. Then let sit for another 30 minutes, covered with a lid. Strain and, moistening with a gauze napkin in the composition, apply for 15 minutes to problem areas.
Steam baths for oily skin
To cleanse the skin and improve the functioning of the blood vessels, steam baths several times a month in the evenings. First, cleanse your face, then lubricate the eyelids with a special protective cream. After that, pour 2-3 tablespoons of sage flowers into the container and pour 3 cups of boiling water, tilt your head and cover with a towel. Sit over the steam with your eyes closed for about 10-15 minutes, then wipe the skin with paper towels and rinse with cool boiled water, after adding 2-3 drops of lemon juice to it.
If your skin is too dirty, use oregano flowers for a steam bath. Oregano perfectly cleanses the skin from dirt, dust and grease. In addition, in addition to the cleansing effect, it perfectly tones the skin.
Steam baths are contraindicated in hypertension and asthma, if there is a large amount of excess hair on the face, as well as with closely spaced vessels and a tendency to rosacea.
