A misdemeanor is an act that violates the norms and rules of conduct. It is not an accidental going beyond the limits of one’s rights, beyond the limits of permitted behavior. More than a mistake and less than a crime.
For example: A brother hit his sister, seriously nagu.e.l grandmother, lied that he did his homework, stole a small amount of money … Still not scary, but not a trifle …
The boundaries of what is allowed or not are set by:
- generally accepted moral attitudes (“Do not steal”, “My freedom ends where someone else’s freedom begins”),
- law
- private arrangements.
Misconduct is not a mistake. A mistake is accidental, what is called a misdemeanor is that which is not accidental.
How to respond to misconduct?
What happened is just an excuse to build the future. You can react immediately or with a delay, you can punish severely or forgive — the main thing is that this is not a reaction to what happened, but a chain in the line of achieving the necessary educational result. See Good Punishment
