Oculotect Fluid

Oculotect Fluid is used in the symptomatic treatment of symptoms related to dry eye syndrome. The active substance of this preparation is polyvidone. The drug helps to solve dry eye problems associated with prolonged exposure to a computer, smoke or other external factors. Oculotect Fluid is in the form of over-the-counter eye drops.

Oculotect Fluid – indications and dosage

Indications for use Oculotect Fluid is the treatment of symptomatic symptoms related to the dry eye syndrome.

Dosage

  1. 1 drop into the conjunctival sac 4 × / d or depending on the severity of symptoms.

Contact with soft contact lenses should be avoided. Oculotect Fluid can be used up to 4 weeks after opening the bottle.

Oculotect Fluid and contraindications

Contraindications to the use of Oculotect Fluid are:

  1. hypersensitivity to any component of the drug,
  2. use during pregnancy and breastfeeding without a doctor’s recommendation.

Oculotect Fluid – warnings

  1. Oculotect Fluid contains benzalkonium chloride which may irritate the eyes and discolour contact lenses.
  2. It is recommended to avoid contact of Oculotect Fluid with soft contact lenses. Lenses should be removed before instillation of the eyes and reinserted no earlier than half an hour after instillation.
  3. People who experience blurred vision after using the preparation should not drive or operate motor vehicles.
  4. Do not touch the eyelids or other surfaces or objects with the tip of the dropper.
  5. It is not recommended to use the drops during pregnancy and breastfeeding due to the lack of data on the safety of its use (use of the preparation during this period only after consulting a doctor and only if absolutely necessary).

Oculotect Fluid – interactions

In the case of using other ophthalmic drugs, Oculotect Fluid should be instilled last, not earlier than 5 minutes after instillation of the previous drug.

Oculotect Fluid – side effects

There may be:

  1. mild transient burning sensation or stickiness of the eyelids,
  2. very rare: irritation or hypersensitivity reactions.
