Obzhorka salad has another name – American. This is a very satisfying tasty dish that is equally suitable for a festive and everyday table. There are many recipes for this salad. It is prepared with meat, sausage, chicken, mushrooms, seafood, beans, etc. Thanks to the great variety of ingredients, the salad can be constantly varied.

Obzhorka salad: a delicious recipe

Obzhorka salad recipe with meat

To prepare the Obzhorka salad with meat, you will need the following products:

– 10-12 pieces of carrots;

– 5-6 heads of onions; – 1-2 pickles; – 200 grams of beef or sausage; – vegetable oil; – mayonnaise; – salt.

Wash the carrots thoroughly, peel and grate on a coarse grater. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan and fry the carrots in it.

Peel the onions, chop and also fry in vegetable oil. Cool it down.

Beef in this recipe can be replaced with sausage, wieners, sausages or any other meat products that are on hand.

Rinse the beef, pat dry with a paper towel and cook until tender. Then remove from broth, refrigerate, cut into small cubes and fry until appetizing. All ingredients for Obzhorka salad are fried separately.

Grate the pickles on a coarse grater and combine the products prepared for the salad and salt if necessary. Mix all the ingredients well, season the Obzhorka with mayonnaise and transfer to a deep salad bowl.

To prepare a puff salad “Obzhorka” with smoked chicken and mushrooms, you need to take:

– 150 grams of smoked chicken meat; – 200 grams of fresh mushrooms; – 80 grams of Korean carrots; – 80 grams of prunes; – 150 grams of fresh cucumbers; – vegetable oil; – mayonnaise; – salt; – ground black pepper; – dill or parsley …

Wipe fresh mushrooms very thoroughly with a damp towel or napkin and cut into slices. Pour vegetable oil into the pan, heat and fry the mushrooms in it for 5 minutes, salt and pepper.

Separate the smoked chicken from the bones and cut into small cubes. Wash fresh cucumbers, dry and also cut into small cubes. Draining the liquid Korean carrots, chop the carrots. Rinse pitted prunes and steam in hot water for about 15 minutes. Then cut into pieces.

Obzhorka salad will be even tastier if you use homemade mayonnaise for impregnation. Fans of lighter salads can season “Obzhorka” with a mixture of sour cream and mayonnaise, which are taken in a 1: 1 ratio

Lay out all the ingredients prepared for “Obzhorka” in layers: 1st – chicken meat, 2nd – prunes, 3rd – fried mushrooms, 4th – fresh cucumbers; 5th – Korean carrot. Coat each layer with mayonnaise. Decorate the salad with herbs and refrigerate for half an hour.
