General description of the disease

 

Myopathy is a hereditary muscle disease that is characterized by the rapid development of muscle weakness and is distinguished by its duration.

These forms of myopathy are distinguished

  1. 1 Nemaline myopathy (congenital, filamentous), damages the proximal muscle groups. Doesn’t progress.
  2. 2 Myotubular (centronuclear) myopathy – begins in childhood, is characterized by muscle weakness and muscle atrophy. The disease develops slowly.
  3. 3 Mitochondrial myopathy – the structure of the mitochondrial genome is disrupted along with the nuclear one. Damage to both genomes is sometimes present.
  4. 4 Central rod disease – there are no mitochondria and elements of the sarcoplasmic reticulum in the muscle fibers. It is characterized by slow development.
  5. 5 Brodie’s myopathy. With this form of myopathy, muscle spasms are present, but without painful sensations, the process of muscle relaxation is disrupted.
  6. 6 Grefe’s ophthalmoplegic myopathy. This is a rather rare type. It often occurs in older people. This disease damages the outer muscles of the eye. It progresses slowly, the intramuscular muscles of the eye are not affected.

The causes of myopathy:

  • genetics;
  • suffered injuries and infections;
  • improper diet;
  • in insufficient quantities, vitamins B and E enter the body;
  • leading a wrong lifestyle
  • intoxication of the body;
  • constant overwork and excessive physical activity.

Symptoms of myopathy:

  1. 1 atrophy of nerve cells, which gradually entails the death of muscles;
  2. 2 muscle weakness;
  3. 3 weak facial muscles;
  4. 4 impaired coordination of movement;
  5. 5 in children from an early age – scoliosis;
  6. 6 in rare cases, there is a violation of the function of the respiratory system;
  7. 7 chronic fatigue;
  8. 8 muscles are not in good shape;
  9. 9 an increase in muscle size, but not due to fibers, but due to fatty layer and connective tissue.

Useful foods for myopathy

In order for the disease not to progress and the patient’s condition to improve, it is necessary to adhere to a special diet, which includes the use of the following food products:

  • milk (in no case should you drink boiled and pasteurized milk), the patient should drink it, as much as possible;
  • cottage cheese;
  • eggs;
  • boil porridge cooked in water (sprouted grains of wheat, oats, barley, rye);
  • honey;
  • very healthy salads from fresh vegetables;
  • as much fruit as possible (preferably fresh, in extreme cases frozen, but not boiled), every day you need to eat at least 2 apples (for a normal amount of iron to enter the body);
  • vitamin B (a good source is liver, especially pate made from it);
  • vegetable oil from olives, corn, sunflower;
  • butter;
  • greens: dill, celery, parsley, turnip leaves.

Traditional medicine for myopathy

Massage the whole body every day to improve blood circulation, which has a beneficial effect on the condition of the muscles (improves muscle nutrition).

2 Tip

Before going to bed, and preferably three times a day, wipe off with a wet, cold towel. You need to start with the chest, back, then arms and legs. This process shouldn’t take more than two minutes. After that, the patient should be wrapped in a blanket. In addition to cold water, you can moisten a towel in apple cider vinegar.

3 Tip

Twice a week it is necessary to steam in a bath with hot water and with the addition of salt (better than English and sea salt, but you can also use ordinary one). For 50 liters of water (full bath), you will need about two kilograms of salt. Also, you can add birch ash.

4 Tip

Every day (if it is impossible because of health, less often – after two or three days) to do contrasting foot baths. To do this, you need to take two basins of hot and cold water. First, dip your feet into a basin of hot water, hold until they turn red. Then place in a cold place. So alternate 5 to 7 times. After that, hold your feet in hot water for about half an hour, then for a minute in cold water. Wear warm woolen socks.

To improve the effect, red pepper, various decoctions (for example, from pine branches, burdock root, oat straw, birch leaves and buds) can be added to the water.

5 Tip

Wipe off every day with a tincture of vodka and angelica root (take in a ratio of 4 to 1). You need to insist 10 days.

6 Tip

If muscle pain is very painful, you can make compresses with horsetail or lubricate them with ointment. In order to prepare it, you need to take a piece of bacon (not necessarily salted) or butter and mix with a powder made from dry horsetail herb in a ratio of 4 to 1.

7 Tip

Drink a special drink three times a day: take 200 milliliters of warm water, add a tablespoon of honey and apple cider vinegar to it. The course of treatment is a month, then you need to give the body rest from this drink for 10-14 days. Then you can repeat. Everything in a circle: drink for a month – take a break for about 2 weeks.

Dangerous and harmful foods for myopathy

You should eat fatty, salty, meat dishes as little as possible.

Limit the consumption of such foods:

  • sugar;
  • spices;
  • seasonings;
  • Coffee and tea;
  • sweet soda;
  • instant food and convenience foods (refuse altogether);
  • cabbage;
  • potatoes.

Also, you can not smoke and consume alcoholic beverages.
