National Health Test of Poles 2021 – results
This year’s results of the National Health Test of Poles can be compared with NTZP2020. Compared to 2020, in 2021 we sleep more, move more, eat a little healthier – we eat more vegetables and fruit, and drink less sweetened drinks. On the other hand, the average Health Index in 2021 is lower by as much as 7 percentage points! It turned out that Poles care less about their health and a healthy lifestyle (only 75% of respondents had the highest Health Index in the range of 100-4% vs. 13% in 2020).
– We hope that the National Health Test of Poles and the presented NTZP2021 report will contribute to increasing the health awareness of Poles, and will also become an important source of data for all people and organizations striving to improve the health of our society. As this year’s results show, we still have a lot to do in terms of preventive healthcare, and the pandemic has made the problem even worse. Fortunately, positive shocks are visible in some areas, such as the use of a healthier diet or an increase in the number of non-drinkers and non-smokers, but these changes are still too small to speak of an improvement in the health of the entire Polish society. This is clearly visible in the Health Index, which has dropped significantly year on year, which should be worrying, says Dr. Anna Zimny-Zając, editor-in-chief of Medonet and chairman of the NTZP Scientific Council.
— The test showed that the situation is worse than in the previous year – comments on the results of the new study by prof. Tomasz Grodzicki, Vice-Rector of the Jagiellonian University for Collegium Medicum. – Thanks to the test, everyone can see a picture of their health behavior – what they do right, what they do wrong. It has an educational value – said the expert during the “Onet Rano. I KNOW”.
The project was held under the honorary patronage of the Vice-Rector of the Jagiellonian University for Collegium Medicum. The content of the project is supervised by the Scientific Council of the National Health Test of Poles.
